CTV bought the rights to the theme. Only at the CBC.

And,if I remember,the deal gives it the rights in perpetuity.

Shouldn't CBC have seen this coming? That theme is an institution for that country.
It will be interesting to see what new theme they come up with...but it won't match up to the old one at all.

The CBC is a joke,never has the CBC ever worried how it spent money untill this. You have to wonder what is going on.Now they will have a contest to find a new one and that will cost a lot more then buying the old one. Being so politically correct I wonder if they thought is was ''too canadian'' and thought it might ''offend someone'' :rolleyes:

If it bothers you that much, you really need to get a life.
It's time the CBC and other smart marketers start looking past the baby boomer generation, unless all you want to see is Depends and wheelchair commercials during hockey games.
