it's a tough one between Hasek and Tavares...
Hasek is a definite top 5 goalie...probably the best at his position...
Tavares holds pretty much ever lacrosse record...and along with the Gait brothers...is the standard-bearer for lacrosse...
tough one

The best athlete was OJ Simpson. The person who played his position better than anyone else was Hasek.

There is one guy on there that brought a championship to Buffalo and for that Johnny T is the greatest athlete to play for Buffalo.

Bruce. Even though he is continually dogged by national media (rated #4 in NFLN's all time greatest pass rushers,) he was the epitome of domination. Hasek was great, but has played too much of his career for other teams to be ahead of Bruce in Buffalo history.

The man who lived and breathed Buffalo from the time he was drafted until he retired. Gilbert Perreault

O.J. . 2003 yards in 14 games, never been matched.
Perreault was my favorite.

In terms of pure athlete, I gotta go with Bruce. I bet you can instantly picture him coming around the corner, torso low, those freakishly long arms outstretched, about to pulverize someone . . .

Sorry for the groan bro. But Fk Hasek. He gave Buffalo the verbal middle finger when he left. I don't care who was banging whose wife. Fk Hasek and his "I am a Redwing and always will be" speech..

Yea you hate his personality. You can't hate on his rediculous goaltending skills though. It was who was the best athlete, not who was the best person. He did donate $1,000,000 out of his pocket to the Riverside Hockey rink. He wasn't as bad as he seemed. If a man wanting to win a Stanley Cup is so wrong, then everyone is a big *******.

Agreed. I wish it had ended better here, but the man was a freak in goal.

Hasek had some issues with some players and front office, thats where the middle finger was pointing.
Now if he goes into the Hall a Red Wing, then maybe I can forget him like I forgot OJ Simpson.

What makes you think he won't? What I mean is, of cource he is going in as a Red Wing. You would have to hold a gun to his head to get him to do otherwise.

Well hockey works differently, you don't go in with a certain team, you just go in as yourself. He made himself here, and no matter where he won his Cups and who he loves more he knows he owes us everything. We can't expect gratitude from everyone. It's like a divorce, there was something great that isn't there anymore and it kind of tarnishes what was great, but that doesn't take the greatness away. We remember him for what happened last, not what happened first.

Tavares is the best player ever in the best lacrosse league, he gets my vote. Maybe you could argue that Bruce was the best defensive end or Hasek was the best goalie ever, but I don't think you could argue they are the best player ever in the whole league . Tavares is the best player the NLL has ever seen.

The NLL isn't a big 4 sport though and that itself is the reason why I can't give enough credit for what Tavares has done even though I respect it fully.
