So, basically, Team Sweden won the cup, as half of DET's skaters were Swedish.
Look at international tourneys: Sweden, Russia, and a bunch of other Euro countries do well in them. Why? They're playing for their country. Remember the mentality of the euro: 1. Country, 2. Cash, 3. NHL. In this case, it was like Detroit was playing for Sweden...just look at their roster.
ALSO, who was the dog of the finals? Malkin. Blew it. Where does he hail from? RUSSIA. I GUARANTEE YOU, if, for example, a guy like Getzlaf was put in Malkin's position, there would have been a different outcome.
Overall, Team Sweden jumped all over Malkin's shitty play, which would be expected from a money hungry euro, faltering in the playoffs.
And for the record, the percentage of euro captains winning the cup is now a WHOPPING .9%. Congrats to Team Sweden on its first Stanley Cup.
SUCK IT, DUFF! :flip:

Unless I am mistaken, there has been one Euro and one American captain to win the Cup. And Americans have been in the NHL much, much longer than Euro's.

Okay, so you can't win with Euros...unless you have LOTS of Euros, from the same country.
I think I've got it now.
