According to Tom Borrelli the Bandits are going to start Ken Montour in goal Saturday vs. the Titans. Personally I thought Monster should have been playing last week too, but I find it odd that the Bandits are switching after they won and Thompson was co-mvp of the game.

Well so far this year our goalies have been a nasty 1-2 punch. Unlike others I have faith in DK's decision whatever it may be.

I agree. I felt Montour should have started last week, but with Thompson playing so well, he would stay. Interesting choice. I also wonder if Thompson tweaked something or is injuried maybe?
Hopefully it works out, I can't say I really agree with the decison after the way Mike played, but its Darris, I generally don't agree with his ideas.
I also started a thread at wingszone about this, using the BanditsInsider link, maybe it'll be new to some people, could really pick up some traffic on the site. Good call Snarf.

I agree with Darksyde, I have faith in both goalies. Coming into this season, I thought goaltending was going to be the weak spot of the team. Five months later and I would probably have to say that it has been the strongest part of the season. I have as much faith in Montour right now as I did in Chugger in his MVP season, maybe more. And I did not go into the season thinking I would see a whole hell of a lot of Ken Montour. Heck I could not keep him and Thomas Montour of the Chicago Shamrox straight. But the guy has had an awesome year, at points single handedly holding the Bandits in games till this offense which is streaky can but together a run of goals. Not to take away from Thompson, because his game in Rochester may be the biggest reason the Bandits are hosting the Eastern Finals, or even in the playoffs. If he don't stand on his head in that game the Bandits might have started 0-2 and who knows where that would have lead.
I also agree with Darksyde, Darris has seemed to use the goalies right this year, and they both should be fresh.

I think it's the right call having Monster in since NY is more of an up-tempo team that can really swing the rock around and find the open man for the quick strike. Mikey, IMO, isn't as mobile as Monster is plus he's still nursing that groin-pull from a few weeks ago. The D needs to step up once again and give Monster some clean looks...not like it's anything different.

The only thing that makes me nervous about Monster starting is that he tends to get really nervous if he knows he's gonna start and lets in three or four stupid easy goals early. He settles down tho, pretty well after about 10 minutes and plays awesome the rest of the way. When he's tossed to the wolves without any prior warning, he doesn't seem to have that problem. But, regardless, I have faith in both of them. Whoever starts will play well, and they'll keep the Bandits in the game so the offense can do their part.
Let's Go Bandits!!
