I have never seen an Umpire react to a manager coming out to argue the way home plate ump Bobby Price did today in the second game of a double header. Bisons manager Torey Lovullo came out to argue balls and strikes in the first inning, knowing he was probably going to get tossed. As soon as Torey came out both Price and Lovullo got in the face of each other, fbombs being dropped by both. Lovullo who had still not been tossed turned to walk away when the umpire grabbed him and ran in front of him and blew up in his face, doing all the yelling. Price threw Torey out of the game and contuined to yell in his face causing the crew chief to come down and pull Price away. I really thought at that point Price may swing at the Bisons manager. Price had to be pushed away three or four times to get away from the Bisons manager. I don't care what Torey said to him, when an ump has to be pushed away by another ump something is wrong. I personally think umpires should be like NFL refs and just stand there and don't yell back. Minutes later Price was yelling into the Bisons dugout at someone. Then he called a Bisons player out at home who it appeared to be safe. My thought was no close call was going to go the Bisons way. After the inning he stopped the Bisons third base coach and looked to yell at him. Then later in the game he called another player out at the plate who there was no doubt was safe. I have no doubt in my mind he was doing everything he could to have Charlotte win. Yes the Bisons did win, but umpire Bobby Price wanted Charlotte to win. He was giving theBisons pitchers nothing, but that last play at the plate was the final thing I saw to make my mind up. The Bisons player was popping up from his slide when the ball arrived, and yet he was called out. The IL will probably sit Bobby Price down and maybe they will go as far as suspended him, but they need to go farther. If an umpire is willing to try and throw a game because of an arguement with a manager, he needs to find a different line of work.

Hopefully, someone got it on tape... It'll be all over the sports networks if it's available.

Umps get harassed by everyone and its relentless, they must hit a boiling point eventually.Nevertheless spinning around Lovullo to continue his verbal assault was not acceptable.

I watched some of the game online as I have the MILB.TV package. All Bison home games are on there. It definitely looked like the Bison pitchers were getting squeezed on balls and strikes. How they won 1-0, I have no idea. All the credit in the world to the Bisons for fighting through an obviously biased ump.And he should at least get a long suspension for making contact with Lovullo. If Torey Lovullo did the same thing to the ump, he would be suspended at least a month.

And to make things worse, I am sure the Bisons will get in trouble because they showed the close play at home on the big board. League rules say they can't show close plays on the big board to show up umps, and it was clear the call was wrong.
