i found this while i was looking for madden updates...this game looks like its going to destroy madden as far as gameplay is concerned. this is just sick.

Interesting...the video looks real cool, but is it an NFL game or what? If it's not, I think I'd prefer madden. Either way, it looks pretty awesome. Those tackles were legit.

It's Backbreaker (http://www.backbreakergame.com/) the game by Natural Motion. It's the first football game to feature non-canned, fully interactive tackles. Using the euphoria engine (also found in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto IV and Star Wars: Force Unleashed games), Backbreaker features on-the-field football action with tackles that are different every time.

I'm thinking EA Sports has exclusive license for the NFL... Not 100% on that though.

yea its not through the NFL at all...but i'd like to see EA step it up..otherwise when that contract is up they are gunna be in trouble.

EA bought the exclusive rights to the NFL. Otherwise someone else would have already made a NFL football game far superior to what they have come up with. I agree with above I would rather have realistic gameplay.


EA also decided not to make a PC version of Madden this year.

Madden needs to upgrade their engine... its been the same damn one for years...

They could easily upgrade it and make the needed improvements... but since they have exclusive rights... they arent in any rush to make significant upgrades. Just little features every year....

anybody ever check out the number of options in franchise mode when you're asked if you want to play a game? it's like play; sim., sim. to, super sim., sim. season. and all those franchise features. Talk about waited memory.

That game has been in the works for about a year and a half. Atleast thats how long that videos been out.

I love Madden but their 08 version for PS3 was garbage. The gameplay took a huuuge step backwards. Much slower than the same Madden 08 for PS2 .... Give me speed over detailed High Def graphics please

I noticed that too. The framerate is alot smoother on the 360 so hopefully it carries over to the PS3 for 09.
