The only one giving the Bills props for their first day picks. He recognized the Bills' needs and how they addressed them. I don't care who calls him a Bills Homer...I love Berman for it, he's our only (sports) media voice.

I saw that too...Berman's the man. Trying to be as unbiased as possible, I think that the bills had a better draft than the Jets, and even they were mentioned by the other analysts.

I didn't mind the Jets draft (wasn't high on the move up to get Keller), but yeah I think the Bills draft was better then the Jets too.

Just wait until he's a minority owner of the Bills (waaayyy minority)....oh yeah, you think Jimbo won't let him get in on that action?

I was really surprised more people weren't praising our picks, to be honest. Hell, they didn't even show our second round selection...yet another Henne/Brohm spotlight (get over it).
But to get the best cover corner with the 11th pick, when he was going in the top 10 in 99% of the mocks- as high as 6th in some- and to essentially have our choice of big WRs at 41, showed the patience and foresight that a lot of other teams seemed to lack.
After we get our TE in rd 3, we're then only drafting for depth, as most of our holes are competently filled. Not bad for a team no one notices.

How come Berman doesn't know the pick anymore. WHat happened to the cab driver?

I thought ESPN's coverage was very poor and Berman, in particular, was not sharp. In the past I really enjoyed Berman on draft day, but he seemed to be stumbling over himself all afternoon and into the evening. The coverage was extremely over-produced. Instead of focusing on storylines they should just simply talk about each pick. It's not brain surgery. Before a team picks, talk about what they need and make guesses. After they pick, talk about how it does or does not make sense. Stop with the storylines.

I was watching NFL Network and Mike Mayock had not only most of the first round picked correctly, he also had the trades dead-on. Another great thing about the NFL Network was that they did not have 15 guys talking over each other when they analyzed the picks. On ESPN they all cant wait to make their point and it gets confusing as to what they are all saying.

I agree. There were many more times this year where I thought he just didn't know where to go with it.
But to be fair, I've been to two drafts as a media member, and I can tell you there is a ton more stuff going on around them than what you see. The Commish or another NFL rep sometimes goes to the podium to talk about things without notice....on top of the fact that they try to guess how much time they have for each segment (in between picks) because they never know when a team is going to turn in their card. Sometimes they have 10-minutes to talk, sometimes 2-minutes. It changes without notice.

That's a good point, but the draft is a made-for-TV event now, so they have to have storylines.

I only saw ESPN from about pick 22 thru our Hardy pick...it did seem a bit cluttered. I didn't like that they were busy talking over the picks being made on round 2. I wonder if the NFL Network has hurt ESPN's coverage?

If the Pats had stayed put and picked McKelvin, the analysts would have said it was brilliant. The Bills get him THREE picks later and it's a mediocre pick. The Bills get Hardy in the seond round and they don't even stop talking. And we all know why. To get positive attention, boys, we gotta win more than we lose. They just couldn't ignore us in the late eighties and early nineties. We were destroying teams, not just beating them. Our D is starting to look nasty. Now, on day two, I want a giant TE, two monstrous offensive linemen (minimum), an insane FB, another LB and a pass-rushing DE prospect who isn't on probation or wanted for murder. Bills are in the playoffs this year.
