The Buffalo Bills will be using the extensive NFL draft weekend coverage to kick off an electronic advertising campaign aimed at increasing the team's season-ticket base.
This time, however, the Bills won't be using team stars such as Lee Evans or Marshawn Lynch to sell packages.
Instead, the 10-week campaign will feature four vignettes with longtime holders of season tickets discussing their favorite games at Ralph Wilson Stadium and the sense of community they felt in the stands.
The campaign is slugged "My Bills. My Story" and was created by the Rochester advertising and marketing firm of Martino Flynn LLC.
"The fans talk about it being a different game when you're in the stands," said Marc Honan, the Bills' senior vice president of marketing and broadcasting.
Martino Flynn contacted a number of Bills fans to find its foursome. Among them is Buffalo State College graduate Tom Calderone, now the general manager of VH1.
Each of the fans talked about a Bills game that carried the strongest personal memory for them. The clips were cut down to one-minute commercial segments that feature game highlights interspersed with fan memories.
