LEMSON | Washington Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell had seen this size entourage before.

Campbell stood off to the side Thursday, watching the limited pro-day workout of Clemson defensive end Phillip Merling, behind the Redskins’ brain trust.

Campbell, tagging along for a later workout with Oklahoma receiver Malcolm Kelly, a projected second-round pick, remembered seeing such a crew the year the Redskins traded into the first-round to acquire him

At least 11 other teams had representatives in attendance: Baltimore, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Miami, Green Bay, Carolina, New York Jets, New York Giants, Buffalo, Jacksonville and Tampa Bay.http://www.thestate.com/sports/story/385285.html

sounds like Merling looked pretty good. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d807f21ec&template=with-video&confirm=true

"This is the most important thing to me before the draft, to work out in front of coaches," Merling said.

While some might have questions about his health, there's little doubt about his motivation. Merling played hurt throughout the 2007 season, Clemson defensive coordinator Vic Koenning said as he watched his former defensive star.

Merling was the only one of several eligible, talented juniors to give up his final season at Clemson. Star runner James Davis had initially declared for the draft, then successfully petitioned to return to school about a week later.

Merling, at 6-foot-4, 276 pounds, led the Tigers with seven sacks and 17 tackles for loss. He was Clemson's top tackler among the defensive line with 78.

He didn't have the standout college highlight like former teammate Gaines Adams, picked No. 4 overall last spring by Tampa Bay. Adams probably was best remembered for breaking up Wake Forest's field goal try and returning it for a TD in 2006 as Clemson rallied to defeat the Demon Deacons.

Merling's agent, Jimmy Sexton, said in his 30 years of experience he has never had a one-day workout like this so close to the draft. "Then again, I've never had a guy go through so much to get back before," Sexton said. Merling will watch the draft Saturday at his grandmother's home.

Hey Answer, I liked the mock you had before this last one better, but still pretty good. I'm glad the Bills are still looking into Kelly, if he is still there in the second maybe he will be worth it to them.

I still don't like Kelly's attitude but he has talent and I would take him in the 2nd.

That last one was my personal mock, this one is what I think buffalo will do. 4 out those 1st 6 players visted Buffalo.
