It’s always fun to draft players with comical names in the final round when every other name on a team’s board is gone, but a more useful way to gamble on a very late pick is by adding a player with local ties. University at Buffalo product Trevor Scott might be a long shot to even get drafted, much less stick on an NFL roster. But his adaptability and work ethic are assets that should compel teams to consider choosing him late, including one that would have had to send a scout a total of about 20 miles to see him.
