I honestly don't know why I decided to make a 7 round mock. I started making the 1st round for the competition and kept going. I'll put all the Bills picks at the top to make it easy for people who just want to see how those stakced up.
Bills
1. DRC, CB TEN St.
2. Marcellus Bennett, TE TX A&M
3. Jordy Nelson, WR K-State
4. Steve Justice, OC Wake
4. Bryan Kehl, LB BYU
5. Brian Johnston, DE Gardner-Webb
6. DJ Parker, S Va.Tech
7. Marcus Monk, WR Arkansas
7. Jerome Felton, FB Furman
7. Matterral Richardson, CB Arkansas
1st Round
MIA- OL, DT, QB, LB - Jake Long, OT Michigan. I think they should go with Chris Long here, but they seem to be thinking otherwise, so…
STL- OT, DE, DT - Glen Dorsey, DT LSU. St. Louis really would benefit from Jake Long here, but with him gone I think they need to plug up the middle. They were awful against the run last year and they like Dorsey.
ATL- QB, OT, DL - Vernon Gholston, DE OSU. Ryan might be the pick here, but I think they will fear that he might be too much of a reach. Ellis is another possibility, but Gholston has freakish athletic ability that’s too good to pass on.
OAK- DL, OT, OLB - Chris Long, DE UVA. Just don’t think there is anyway that Davis let’s Howie’s kid slip past this spot.
KC- QB, OT, DT - Sedrick Ellis, DT USC. KC could go a number of ways here with Clady or Ryan being a possibility. However, I think Ellis is the best option right here and they could use him as a penetrator in the middle.
NYJ- RB, QB, OLB, DE - Darren McFadden, RB Ark. Jets fans get their dream. McFadden slips past on the talent on D ahead of him. Thomas Jones didn’t produce at all and loses his job.
NE- OLB, DE, CB - Leodis McKelvin, CB Troy. Might be a bit of a reach here, but NE is in desperate need of a CB with Samuel gone. They could go with Rivers or Harvey here, but I think the CB need is too great.
BAL- QB, CB, OT, DE - Matt Ryan, QB BC. Easy pick if he lasts this long.
CIN- DE, DT - Derrick Harvey, DE Fla. Justin Smith never really panned out and now he is gone. CIN really needs some help on the D-line to stop the run and pressure opposing QBs. Harvey is the top DE in the draft.
NO- DT, CB, LB - Mike Jenkins, CB S.Fla. Hardest pick to project for me so far. The Saints have a lot of needs, but they simply could not stop the pass last year. I think they go for the more “sure-thing” CB and take Jenkins.
BUF- WR, TE, CB- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB TEN St. I would rather see the Bills trade down, but if we are projecting the draft as is then I think this is where they go. Lots of question marks at WR, with many different names having been the #1 guy in the last month. They are apparently pretty high on DRC, so I think they go that way here.
DEN- DT, LB, WR, OT - Ryan Clady, OT Boise St. The O-line is crucial in Denver’s system and Clady fits the bill. He’d be a great find for Shannahan.
CAR- DE, S, WR, RB - Devin Thomas, WR Mich. St. Carolina could go a lot of ways, but I think they are okay with DeAngelo right now. Harvey is high on their list, but he will be gone. Thomas would be great to take pressure off of Steve Smith and I don’t think the Panthers are sold on Jarrett.
CHI- OT, QB, WR, S - Branden Albert, OG UVA. With Clady and Ryan gone, CHI tries to go back to being a smash-mouth team with the drafts highest riser at guard.
DET- DE, LB, OT, RB - Jonathan Stewart, RB Oregon. DET needs a RB, plain and simple. Word is they are higher on Stewart than they are on Mendenhall, so if that’s the case, they get their boy right here.
AZ- OLB, DE, CB - Keith Rivers, OLB USC. Not the type of OLB/DE that the Cardinals love, but he is the best LB on the board and great value with this pick.
MIN- DE, T, QB - Chris Williams, OT Vandy. Phillip Merling could be the pick here, but he has some question marks around him. I think Minny’s need for OT matches their need at DT and Williams is a very solid pick at this stage to pair up with McKinnie.
HOU- C, S, DE, T - Rashard Mendenhall, RB Illinois. They were really hoping that Williams fell. I don’t buy the talk of them not feeling that they need a RB. If Mendenhall falls to them, they are not going to let him slip away; he’s too good a talent.
PHI- T, DE, WR, CB - Phillip Merling, DE Clemson. A weird spot for Philly here as nobody really jumps out at you to fit their needs. Merling has some question marks, but he could be a very solid pick at this stage.
TB- T, WR, CB, RB - Limas Sweed, WR Texas. TB needs to become a little more explosive on the offensive end and Galloway isn’t getting any younger. Sweed steps in to fill a big hole.
WAS- FS, G, T, WR - Jeff Otah, OT Pittsburgh. Otah may be off the board, but if he’s here Washington has to take him. They have a bunch of holes on the OL and I know they want Albert, but I doubt he falls.
DAL- RB, WR, CB - Aqib Talib, CB Kansas. When you have TO and are talking about trading for Pacman Jones, character flaws are probably not the greatest problem for you. Talib is a solid CB and was once near the top of the list.
PIT- G, DE, LB, WR - James Hardy, WR Indiana. Big Ben has been clamoring all season for a big WR. You don’t pay a QB all that money and then piss him off. They get him the biggest WR in the draft and hope that keeps him happy.
TEN- WR, RB, DT - Kentwan Balmer, DT UNC. They have LenDale and Chris Henry, so I don’t think they try and address RB this early on, hoping one of them shapes up a little bit. Balmer would be a big stud and fill some of the losses and the potential loss of Haynesworth after the season.
SEA- TE, G, DT, WR - Fred Davis, TE USC. Top TE on the board for a team that badly needs a receiving threat at TE. He can be a real game-changer for them.
JAX- DE, WR, S, DT - Kenny Phillips, S MIA. They could go a few ways with this pick, but I see them going with the Safety here. Phillips is the best value, they can shift Nelson back to his normal position and they work to make their defensive backfield scary.
SD- CB, DT, T, RB - Dan Connor, LB Penn St. Felix Jones is tempting here. As is Gosder Cherilus or Antoine Cason, but just call it a gut feeling.
DAL- RB, WR, CB - Felix Jones, RB Arkansas. Jerry Jones seems to like him and they like using a 2-RB committee. I think Jones is the easy pick here.
SF- DE, LB, G, CB - DeSean Jackson, WR Cal. They have some other needs, but with Martz coming into town, they need some quick WRs who can make plays and Alex Smith needs help. Jackson is very good value here.
GB- QB, CB, TE, G - Dustin Keller, TE Purdue. GB needs a TE and Rodgers needs a safety blanket. The two blend together in Keller who can make a lot of plays with the ball in his hand.
NYG- LB, CB, DT, S - Jerod Mayo, LB, Fla. St. The Giants could go with Cason here, but they lack depth at LB, which is a crucial position in their scheme. I think they land an impact LB here and hope to use the depth at CB later on.
