I don't know what to think of this guy...
He reminds me of the 23 year old guy in my senior year of high school that couldn't quite pass the Regents!
Is he just young and stupid or is he a nutcase??

I admit, I regard his perseverance though.

He wants to play in the NFL and thats got to count for something.

At this point i'd feel shaky about taking the guy in the second round much less the first. I can only immagine what it's like to be in MK's head right now. But he did it to himself. No one thought he was going to be a burner (and we honestly didn't need a fast WR so much as a physical one this year regardless). but his whining to the media really turned me off.

I never thought he was a viable choice for us at 11. But now i'm not even sure i'd take him at 40-something. I'd much rather have sweed or Hardy or move up in a really aggressive trade to land Thomas after taking another player @ 11.

HOnestly, the guy needs better self control and/or a new agent. After his shitty performance running the 40, i'd have ripped him a new A-hole if i was his agent.

They didn't think he'd run a slow 40? Really... They didn't talk about what he should or should not say after his run? Really?

Maybe his agent just sucks.

For me it's absolutely amazing that they weren't more disciplined in terms of his PR campaign before, durring and after that work out.

We're talking about millions of dollars here. Someone (or everyone) really screwed the pooch on this thing.

He'd still be a bottom of the first round selection if i were representing him. And i don't know jack about pro sports contract law.

I can only imagine what he will be moaning about when he is in the league.
He will be the guy calling for pass interference flags all the time and those are the most annoying guys in the league!

No mulligans when its game time, sucka.

Wouldn't be something if no one showed up Wednesday to watch it ?

hey if it was me I'd be doing the same thing...if he runs a 4.4 it could mean millions more to him.

The point is he knows damn well he can't run that kind of a 40. He bitched and moaned when he ran even worst than the most pragmatic of analysts expected.

Now it's like the guy is just reaching for anything he can. And he already destroyed his chances at being considered a "team player" type of guy.

It's all about him evidently.

That would be frickin' great! The guy would curl up into a fetal ball and ask for his passie!

Why would teams even waste their time going? Teams have already wasted thousands of dollars traveling to see this guy fart out 40's.

He reminds me a little bit of JP Losman and the antics JP went through befrore the draft to get the teams to "Look at me". But hey, millions of dollars may be at stake...What would you be willing to do for that kind of money?

Here's an exclusive picture of the site were Kelly will run his 40. His agent says he has been running sub 4.5 40's on the natural turf surface all week.

I wonder if he will fall to the second round like Thurman Thomas did.

I think just with his ability on game tape there is no way he falls that far. I see him going late 1st or early 2nd no matter what. If he runs well it could lock him in the first round.

Why did he even run in the first place? I know he didn't run at the combine. Even right after the combine he was the #1 WR on pretty much everyone's list. I don't know if he could have gotten away with not running.

Can't these guys practice running the 40 and get timed before these workouts so that they know what to expect? He acted like he was flabergasted by a 4.6. He should have been told by his agent to lay low if his 40 times were sucking so bad!

Hey, remember that these are young guys who have lived a pretty sheltered life- cut them a break. They are sort of teenagers who act goofy sometimes. Maybe this guy hasn't spent a lot of time practicing how to act in front of the media. A lot of the players being interviewed for the draft look so scripted and practiced at interviews that you really can't tell who they are. They likely practice before video cameras with expert coaching and look like wooden manakins. ..... I used to be a manager for a newly built large factory and had to interview a lot of canidates. Some of them were so practiced. Every question you asked always got them to respond with a extremely correct and positive-spin answer. Never got an idea, who was really behind the mask- even when you asked outlandish questions. (never hired them- who were they?). Maybe the kid is just a bit raw here.

What is the harm?

He believes in himself and he wants to prove himself.

To be honest, I'm surprised more players don't do this.

And the only reason he believes he needs to do this is because people put so much stock in measurables in the first place. Before this off-season started he was the #1 WR on the board.
