In the ever changing Eastern Divison of the NLL, here is the question for anyone who knows. Who has the tie breakers vs who. And who are we rooting for so the Bandits get a higher seed?

I know the Bandits got the tie breaker vs. Minnesota because the Bandits swept them. And we want Rochester to beat them tonight because if the Bandits win their last two games the Khawks can not catch the Bandits. What about Philly, who has the tie breaker? What about the Bandits and New York?

The downside to Rochester winning is that if the B's lose we are now tied. We all know Rochester holds the tie breaker.

Team W L
Minnesota 9 4
Philadelphia 9 5
Buffalo 8 6
New York 8 6
Rochester 7 7
Toronto 7 7
Chicago 5 8

Say we lose. We become 8-7, Roch wins they are 8-7, NY wins they are 9-6. We are now out. However with NY playing Philly it will be tough for the titans to pull a victory. The rochester minny game can really go either way. It depends on with hawk team decides to show up. As for the Bandits and the 'rox I can say the same. Depending on which B's team comes out to play tonight will ultimately be the deciding factor in the game. So as of right now I root for the bandits. lol

It would be nice to see this organization be able to keep their focus for a whole season. The nightmare of being a fan of theirs is you never really know when they choose to go all out or just say to hell with it.

Must be a Buffalo team. It is amazing that you can say the same thing about every Buffalo team. As for who to root for it is easy, we have two home games remaining against teams that would have no business beating us here. We win those, we make the playoffs no matter what happens.

OK, so the Bandits win last night clinched them a play off spot. Chicago and Toronto are officially eliminated from contention.

So, as far as who to root for next week ...

We need Rochester, Philly and Minnesota to lose ... we can then win the division when we beat Portland. (Minnesota only needs to lose one of their games to Chicago, not both.) But, Rochester still has a remote chance of taking the division title as well, and Philly can still be knocked out of the playoffs ... so it's still basically all up for grabs!

What we don't want to happen is ending up tied with Rochester or NY. They both hold the tie breakers over the Bandits. The Bandits have the tie breakers over Philly and Minny.

Its going to be a wild weekend in the East next week!

This is exactly what we need to have happen this weekend:

(From nll.com)

BUFFALO BANDITS (9-6):
Has clinched a playoff berth.

Clinches a home playoff game with a win against Portland AND one of the following:
-New York loss to Rochester.
-Philadelphia win against Toronto.
-At least one Minnesota loss to Chicago.

If Buffalo loses to Portland, the Bandits would still clinch a home playoff game with two Minnesota losses to Chicago AND a Philadelphia loss to Toronto.

Clinches the East Division title, top overall seed and home field advantage throughout playoffs with a win against Portland AND either:
-One Minnesota loss to Chicago.
-Two Minnesota losses to Chicago AND a New York loss to Rochester.

So I guess it's "Go Chicago!" and *cough* "Go Rochester!" *puke* (Boy did that leave a nasty taste in my mouth!)

Division record is 2nd tie-breaker so...

Buffalo 7-6 home vs Portland
NY 7-5 home vs Roc
Roc 7-5 @ NY
Philly 6-6 @ To
Minny 7-5 home and home series vs Chicago.

Actual standings are:
Minny 9-5
Buf 9-6
NY 9-6
Phi 9-6
Roc 8-7

so now we want Rochester to win (NY would go to 8-5 in Div w/ a win, thats bad)
and we need 1 minny loss the way i'm seeing it (now i think i got it!)

Since 1st tie-breaker is head to head 1 Minny loss and a Rochester win seals the deal....i think! (-:

this post took 1.5 beers!

OK, step one is complete ... the Shamrox defeated the Swarm 12-10 tonight. Now, we need the Swarm to win tomorrow. If they win tomorrow, and we win tomorrow, it doesn't matter what happens with the NY/Rochester game.

If the Swarm loses, tomorrow, though, we will then need Rochester to win in order to take the division title.

Keep your fingers crossed Bandits fans!

Wow, this is setting up nicely to take the #1 overall seed in the NLL.

yeah, but the thought of possibly rooting for the Knighthawks to win a game to help us out makes me nauseous

I will root for the Swarm to win along with the Bandits. I want the Knighthawks gone from the playoffs, since that would mean our two biggest thorns and teams that usually beat us, the Knighthawks and Rock would be out of the playoffs. That would set us up nicely for a playoff run.
