I am in the process of trying to decide on a cruise to take my kids on.
I am looking for some suggestions, from any that have cruised before.
Carnival? Royaly Carribbean?
Which one is better and which one offers more for kids?
I would pick Disney, but they are way too expensive.

My wife and I went on our first cruise this past November. We went on a Princess cruise to the western Caribbean (Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Nassau). We had a great time and are already looking forward to going on another cruise. It wasn't geared specifically for kids, but there were plenty of kids on board and it seemed there were plenty of activities for them to do, no matter what age. You could probably get more information from www.cruisecritic.com.

I've cruised Celebrity and Princess cruises. Both fantastic. Great ships, lots of fun. phenomenal food and the staff is always friendly.
Royal Caribbean is supposed to be the best one but the 2 I mentioned were pretty cool too.

Been on 15 cruises before chickie.
You name it. I've been there.
What are you in the mood for? Letting your hair down and partying your ass off?
Carnival.
Otherwise for a little more elegance without that floating nursing home ambiance of the aforementioned lines *cough*, LOL, I'd go RCL.

Most of the other lines offer free Depends and respirators for their clientele.
Plus, oxygen outlets in the walls and a "just in case" fully staffed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit!
:D
Carnival is better for kids. They'll love the neon.
The dining room food is excellent but as far as buffet food during the day it's the lowest of the lines. But still OK.
Royal Carib, Celebrity have killer food. So does Princess. I hear Costa has the best food of them all though.

Try one of the Royal Carib MEGA liners.

I am looking for rest and relaxtion on the ship, and the crumb snatchers will go away from me. :)
This is why I have finally choosen a cruise to take them on. I fugured this way they can go off, AWAY FROM ME, and have fun while I can LAY on the Lido Deck all day drinking margarita's! :)
I just know I don't want to go to the Bahama's! I have been there before and I hated it. So I am looking at the western caribbean. So have you been to the Western?

Western is lame chickie unless you are an avid diver (and the Cayman's are OVERRATED).
I'd do the 7-day RCCL cruise to the Virgin Islands.
That will BLOW YOUR MIND.

Really - I really wanted to go to Belize...

Belize is nice if you are diving. Otherwise it is flat and Belize City is a bit nastier than the Bronx.
I think you'd be disappointed personally.

Western Carib is 3 stars.
Central America? 3 stars, 4 if it's a dive cruise.
Virgins are really 4 1/2 stars. Central American cruise has better diving though.
Southern is 5+. Creme del a creme. But PRICEY!
That's my take.
Bahamas? 1/2 star.
Day cruises? Bwhahahahahahaha!!!
Might as well sail on a grabage scow in my opinion. LOL

You pay for the name with Disney. I guess I would just look around and see if there are any cruises that cater to kids.

Disney is it. They are the ones that cater to kids, and true to form, gouge you once they have you as a captive consumer.
They'd have to cater to kids. Because if they lacked that niche, then Carnival, Celebrity, Royal Carib, Princess, Costa, ect would put them right the hell out of business.
The "family themed corporation" that loves to financially molest your wallet when it can hold you captive (i.e can't bring food or drinks into the parks, hence the post-hurricane gouging prices).
Since cruises are mainly for the 30+ crowd, Disney can't compete there. So they specialize in kids. Then as typical, take you to the cleaners even before you get on the ship.

That is so true about Disney. The prices they charge to get into their parks is ridiculous, especially if you have a family. But they do have a niche business and definitely exploit it for profit.

That is probably a better choice. I don't know besides Disney, how many cruises would cater to kids. That beach looks awesome!
