Help keep track of Sabres prospects and the draft.
Im sure there are people here with great knowledge of prospects and the Draft. I dont know much about Sabres prospects or the NHL draft besides the bigger names, it would be nice to have a place that keeps track of them.
Just a suggestion.

I would love one, my knowledge is a little weak so it would be great to have a place to learn all the prospects and minor league team stuff, whoever that might be next year.

No only because then SCI would really really be dead during the summer time. The more threads in here, the happier I am!
Unless they are started by someone who's alias use to be vanek690. :slam:

Yeah start one up... I will help fill it up with my useless knowledge.

I dunno...the hockey draft isn't like the football draft. Most people don't know who the hell anyone is past the first 10 picks. I know I don't. I'm not sure there'd be enough content to justify a whole forum.

No.
Cause it would feature two things, and two things only:
1) Me, Mauvaissang and Thumper beefing about Nathan Gerbe.
2) Bernier56 posting every article he can find from Michigan and Boston newspapers with the slightest mention of Gerbe or Kennedy.
If it has to be made, might as well call it the Sabres War Zone, cause that's what it'll degenerate into.

Then dont post in it.

That is the exact reason for having it.
Plus you could follow prospects there.

Yeah I stopped my tracker because I got tired of begging for a sticky when the site went in the toilet. I agree if you don't want it, no one is forcing your hand to click on the link to the forum. I would gladly mod the forum.

The problem is that there probably just isn't enough information out there on said prospects.
It's an intriguing idea, so long as someone can come up with enough information to keep it alive.

I agree just because it's there doesn't mean you have to click on it. I know sabresfans.com has one just for prospects and farm club information. Would love to see one.

Maybe start it next year when we know where the farm team is playing, which players are stocked there, and who (if anyone) moves from the collegiate, Russian Super League and German league to the AHL (Gogulla, get it done, Darcy)
There's too much ambiguity with the whole thing right now.

My point is are there really enough posters on this forum knowledgeable enough about these players to populate an entire forum? I don't think so personally. It'd be nice if I was wrong, because I like learning about these players. But I think it'd be a lot of ignorant asses who've never seen half these kids posting things like "Butler sucks."
It's an interesting idea though.

Let me know, I could add a Sabres sub forum no problem.

This is not a bad venture even if only 100 people use it religiously,Papa would be an ideal component of any such venture. The folks posting in this thread would all be involved which for once would benefit the SCI and any sub forum.Once members interact then the benefits of such a forum will be quite evident.Lets move on this good idea and develop an asset for once.Man it will be nice for a change to see something that actually pulls members together instead of fostering a Hatfields and McCoys reaction. It all begins with each of us,TA74,MauviSang,jlpubarch,bf19,and Dontdieman are all effective reliable posters that would give this idea a running start anyhow. This is an excellent development really.

Why not? All of the prospect threads that people get so angry about for whatever reason could be found in the War Room. Papaduke often posts about Sabres prospects as well, so I think he'd be the guy that sort of keeps that new sub forum current and informative. bernier56 will definitely find plenty of articles to post. Go for it.
Oh, and by the way, we don't beef about Gerbe specifically...Only shorter players and concussions in general. Got it? ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I think with all the speculation about the new farm team and such is even a greater reason to have a forum dedicated to it.
