Hey man, I understand the situation here but you're making it hard for me to take you seriously.

I am more than happy to pay the 60 bucks, but, I'm in college busting my ass to earn a degree, and money aint coming in like I had hoped for.

You have a problem with a select number of individuals and thats cool, no hair off my ass. But I assume I fall under the age bracket of "the kids" on the range and I don't appreciate the attributes you are associating with immature people.

edit: by the way, I'm living pay check to pay check and thats my financial situation, but it's none of business Uppy.

I never said it was....question,do you know what a leaf rake is,they look like this if you don't know.

If you have no money get one of these, remember its spring. Then walk around the neighborhood and when you see a yard full of leafs knock on the door and tell them you will rake their yard for $10 bucks-if they say NO go to the next one.It works believe me I've done it when I needed money-or when money was "hard to come by".

Seriously, how old do you think we are, Uppy? We're in our 20s, and most of us don't even live in neighborhoods. We live on campuses and in apartment complexes.

I know a LOT of guys in their 20's here on the Range that are adult men as far as I view them. About 95%. Then there's that <5% that acts like they are in high school. I think moonie and Uppy appear to be a little disgusted with what appears to be a tantrum by a few. I know I am.
But I don't consider a 21 year old a child if he acts mature. He acts mature and is old enough to have a beer with me, so that's that. He's a drinking buddy at that point. Know what I mean?

Weren't you the one that commented on generalizations? Not everything, or everyone, fits a mold.

This is very true, but the 20-somethings that have participated in this thread are, I believe, in college right now. So for them, telling them to pick up a rake and go door to door in their neighborhood isn't even a relevant suggestion.

I'm glad things settled down here!!

I'm excited for the new developments on the site.

I apologize If I upset you, Uppy.

You shoulda seen this one little girl I had in class today. Huge separation anxiety from her parents. Cried all day! Reminded me of this thread

Uppy is just being sarcastic.

I think where he is wrong is that he doesn't believe we work hard for our money now a days. He doesn't appreciate our hard word we put into our school work as well as our full time/part time jobs.

What Uppy is doing is lumping us in with the snobby, selfish yuonger generation Uppy sees on TV when he watches the Hills or the Real OC, sippin his wine cooler (that's for the rake joke, Uppy! lol).

Fact: I would nail Lauren Conrad til the cows came home.

...and then when the cows came home I'd bitchslap her for being a spoiled and profoundly stupid ****.

After my third degree I was a starving student. I moved to Ft. Lauderdale to Tampa in an oil burning 1990 beat Dodge Shadow and 13 dollars in my pocket. My company put me up in a hotel suite until my bonus check arrived. I borrowed 50 bucks for smokes from my brother and drank beer at the complimentary happy hour and dined on appetizers during happy hour for almost two weeks.

That was some very scary crap.

It would seem some of the youngsters are getting their panties in a twist.

I wonder if the truth hurts?

Did your parents buy your computer? No

Do your parents provide your cell phone service? No

Do your parents pay for your college? No

If you can answer "yes" to any one of these questions, then I would stop thinking that you know more than your parents.

They are helping you.

They love you and want the best.

I have seen so many disparaging remarks about older people on this board it makes me sick.

Guess what? You will get it back.

We are not here to replace your parents, we are here to possibly add to their teachings.

You can choose to ignore them or not.

What else you got for me?

Whats wrong with doing yard work for money? Nothing. Many grown men do it to make ends meet. Instead of finding excuses not to work you should be doing more to find work.

With the exception of my last semester at university, I worked 40 hours a week. I lived very meagerly. Maybe that's why I do so today even though I need not. Why flaunt?

But man, that last semester was rough. I ran out of savings at the end.

Not THE younger people. SOME younger people.

We've had 17 to 23 or so crowd for years. Some of our finest posters in my opinion. A lot of the 28-29 year olds here started here in that age group and now qualify as "old timers". Hell, mouldsie is 21 and he qualifies as an "old timer".

So, forgive my perceived generalization. I did not intend to come off that way. If ALL the younger members took that to mean them then I apologize. It was not my intent.

And I just blew your comment off. No biggie.

Do you consider doing all the maintenance free? Hey, if you don't want to use it don't pay or you can find a similar message board with a SB and post there. No one is forcing anyone to pay, join or even stay here. Forums will be free, hacks will cost a membership fee.

SORRY.

I thought you wanted input...next time I'll just stay queit. DO WHATEVER YA WANT BILLSMAN! I'M JUST HERE TO HALLA!

You give 10. The minimum requirement is 60. Do the math.

Sure is a message board. Unfortunately we are not on the United Way's target list bro. This joint costs coin to operate. And trust me. We're grateful. Without you contributors we could not exist. The Range would shut down. Thanks. Hey. We'll look at different options. But one thing is for sure. The shoutbox is not the feature #1 of our members. The free forums are. That's not opinion. Remember, I can get the automated stats and be able to tell where the activity is. It's in HC. That's the epicenter of the Range. But the activity load per person of hardcore is much less than the shoutbox.

A lot of the bugs are from cummulative additions to the site, and/or incompatibilities.

The upgrade is needed to assure a clean-up of the software and to pre-empt those crappy down times and database errors that annoy the living crap out of you guys. The draft is coming up. It's the HIGHEST traffic day of the year. We're not gonna sit by and cross our fingers that the site can handle it.

It's basically an effort to improve service, and to allow us to get drunk and enjoy the draft without having to spend hours hacking code to bring the joint up again. Partially atruistic, partly selfish. :D
