So far so good in the beta...
The cons outweigh the pros in this post but that doesn't necessarily make that a bad thing - this game is your basic run and gun first person shooter that relies a little more on the strategy side to get missions accomplished - the game is still in beta but as it stands right now is not as "slick" as CoD4 - this I have read can and probably will change.
Granted this game is not CoD4 but in my mind CoD4 raised the bar for first person shooters...
Pros:
-Squad based game play will make teaming with friends fun.
-Manning different types of vehicles (tanks, jeeps, choppers...etc.) sets this apart from other shooters.
-Blowing holes into building provides tactical advancement.
-Maps are big...a lot of areas to fight.
-Sounds great.
Cons:
-Vehicle control is a bit weird...turning with the left stick and turret turning with the right stick with the A button being your accelerator makes for some awkward moments - envision trying to turn and turn a turret with your left hand because your right hand has to stay on the accelerator.
-Controls are not as fluid as CoD4
-No parachute
-No prone
-Chat currently is only squad based - it's difficult to get the entire team involved in strategy.
-Automatic sighting makes hiding difficult. Basically if you "see" a bad guy he appears on the minimap and an orange dot appears on him giving away his location. This should be if you see an enemy you sight him and hit a button rather than making it automatic.
-Knifing compared to CoD4 is not as fluid.
-Takes a good amount of bullets to take down an enemy.
-Blast radius with grenades and grenade launcher kind of weak.
-Push to convey messages would be great...too many times you constantly here people screaming for medics or vehicle repair.
-Air strikes are constant. You can call it in or sit there and man an artillery cannon (see below) and guess where enemies are.
-Only one person at a time can man the artillery cannon - so people knife each other to jump on the thing.

You can use the left bumper and left trigger for acceleration and stopping.

I'm on the 360 beta. I actually dig Front Lines FoW base capturing gameplay better. Sad, considering Front Lines is a clone of BF

IDK why they went to this format. The old Battlefield format was tried and true, I loved that setup.
