Nice to see some people here who share my love of photography. Just curious about what kind of camera does everybody own. I personally own a Canon Digital Rebel XT with 5 lenses for it, which are; 70-300 mm Image stabilizing lens, a definite must for shots at night when you can't have access to a tripod. I also have a Tamron 70-300 mm macro lens, a Tamron 11-18 mm wide angle lens. Those are the extra lenses I bought. The camera came with a 18-55 mm efs lens and a 75-300 mm zoom lens. I also own a kodak easy share cx7430 digital camera, which i don't use much anymore.

I have an old HP Photosmart camera that pretty much only gets used when I need a small camera I can hide in a pocket or purse. I also have the Minolta Dimage 5 which I haven't really touched in over a year. Its just too slow.
But my new toy is a Nikon D80, with 2 lenses ... an 18-55 mm vibration reduction lens and a 70-300 mm vr lens. This is my first *real* dslr camera, so there's a bit of a learning curve for me, but I can't wait to learn to use it to it's full potential! So far I'm loving this camera, and I've only had it for 2 weeks.

Nice! Your camera sounds sweet. I love with my Canon that I can either shoot with autofocus or manually play with the focus to get the shot I desire. And those vibration reduction lenses are a must if you shoot at night. That would be the equivalent to what Canon calls an image stabilizing lens and I proved the difference to my friends when I took a night shot with both my Image stabilizing lens and my other telephoto lens. With same parameters my image stabilizing lens produced a night shot with no blur while you could clearly see the camera shake with the other lens. Anyhow, enjoy your new toy.

I'm contemplating getting the Canon Rebel Xti once I graduate in May. i'm looking for newspaper jobs and I figure I may end up at a low end gig where I may need to shoot my own sports photos.
If not I can always get some sweet shots at Bills camp

I can do the same with the Nikon. The autofocus part is easy, and really comes in handy for fast action shots and whatnot. I take a lot of photos at Bandits games and its just too fast for me to use the manual mode yet. But I'm learning. I can turn the vibration reduction off simply by flipping a switch on the lens itself, so I've seen the difference in photos with and without the image stabilization. Its amazing how much clearer they are with it on!

Manual mode can definitely be difficult for shooting sports. Nice to see they let you use these kinds of cameras at Bandit games. I am going to this Saturday's game and would love to take some shots there. I would like to take shots at a Bills game, but they are real strict with the length of the lens.

The Xti is a good camera. You will definitely be able to get awesome shots at Bills camp. I would love to take mine to camp this year. The canons are nice. You can flip a switch to sports mode and shoot a burst of four shots at once by holding the shutter button down.

That Sony camera seems pretty nice. And it's one you could probably get away with at a Bills game and still get great shots.

Here is my camera, I like it very much...only nit I have is that you can't zoom while recording video.. you can zoon in then start recording, but once you're in record mode you can't zoom in or out..
but the 10x optical zoom is pretty sweet for picture taking!
Kodak EasyShare Z710, 7.1MP 10x optical zoom.

Yeah...gr8slayer has the same model...he got some great shots of the MNF game when he came up. So far, it's working out pretty well ...just a case of getting used to the differences between it and the Z740 I've been using primarily the last two years. The best part about this thing, other than the increased zoom, that I've seen so far is the fact that I can zoom while recording video...which I couldn't do with the Z740. I've been experimenting with that during the Bandits games
