I believe that with either of these receivers we get alot better offensively. Watch both of them and you'll see they:
A. Jump for balls. Both of them seem to really know how to use their size well.
B. Have true break away speed. Watch any of the video and you will see that after the catch, these guys can truly pull away from the pack.
I'm not certain if we go WR in the first round but after spending an hour watching video of both, I'd be happy with either guy. The demension of a big man with speed changes everything for this offseason. More big play ability from the WR position opens up everything offensively. Less 8 man fronts for Marshawn, less blitzing and a more dynamic offensive ability. I think they both have a world of potential, especially if they get to come into the league with Lee Evans still taking on all of the double teams and allowing them to develop along side. Let Bryant Johnson stroke some other team and lets move forward.

100% Sweed
He gets more separation then Kelly does and has better run after the catch capabilities. Kelly is kind of a dead-leg after first contact, sure he has some long balls, but the majority of the time he gets nailed right after he catches it. Sweed also has that uncanny ability to get the first down when it counts, Kelly fails to do so.
Thats just my analysis of the vids. Although i have the same opinion without them.

the question to me is more....what is the difference btw sweed, kelly, nelson, thomas, hardy etc...is that there that much seperation between these guys that we need to take one at 11..3 of those guys play in the big 12, and nelson by far has teh best numbers on the worst team, which it makes it harder for the wr to get the ball(thats why we say lee had a down year)...so if there isnt much seperation, why not take the best available at that point at 11...hey if the top de's, dt's and cbs are gone then yes maybe wr, but i would hope for a trade down, we could get sweed or kelly later on...i know, i hate saying trade down, but if this is the scenario i hope the bills take less then the trade chart value to get another pick and move down

I think the only way I'll be happy take one of these guys, is if Cromartie and Derrick Harvey are off the board.
Hardy with a second sounds good to me.

I had a similar idea but it wasn't to drop down beyond the top two. If both Sweed and Kelly are on the board when the Bills pick, which I expect to be the case, I'd like them to take a flyer on a trade to move down a few spots.
12. Broncos
13. Panthers
14. Bears
15. Lions
16. Cardinals
17. Vikings
18. Texans
19. Eagles
I don't see a team looking for a WR until possibly the redskins pick at 21 or the Eagles at 19 maybe. Hopefully a team is desperate to move up a few spots to get a guy they are big on and we reap the benefits. I'm only in favor of a trade if we are still in the pictue to get one of the top two. While I think alot of the WR's in this draft are going to be good players, I think the top two are a notch above the rest.

Id rather have Hardy in all honesty...I bet he has the biggest career of the 3. Drafting Hardy might make more sense because, we'd most likely be able to trade down and pick up another pick.

I'm sorry, I just don't see the separation Sweed is supposedly getting. Nearly all of his catches are jump balls. Kelly gets a little more at times, but neither really gets alot.
Not that its a bad thing..both show a really good ability to go up and get the ball in the air, and both are definitely big enough to hold their ground on a 10 yard curl.
But I just don't see alot of separation.

That’s true, neither of them does get a lot of separation. If i had to compare the two i think Sweed gets more and is a better run after the catch receiver. I think both of them are going to have problems getting open in the NFL. With that being said i don't think either is worth the 11th pick. I think we should at least wait until the second round where the value will be better for a wide out, if one of them falls great. Personally i would take Nelson in the 3rd or 4th.

In analyzing the vids, it looked to me like Kelly was appreciably faster of foot, or was it just me ?

I don't think either is going to be jammed at the line alot..and I think both are going to be open for jump balls at the next level, and will come down with more than not.
In terms of YAC, its not even close. Both Nelson and Devin Thomas blow them both away. Nelson runs like, well, a running back after a catch. He's got great vision. His breaks don't seem the fastest, he just seems to make his decisions a little quicker.
Thomas is a little different. From the little I've seen, he breaks tackles with a combination of his explosiveness and his size. He's quick enough that people don't get a clean shot on him, and big and strong enough that he can't be brought down by an arm tackle or jersey grab.
If you're looking for consistency, which seems to be what people would want in a possession receiver, Nelson's the guy. He didn't have a game of under 82 yards last year, and everyone knew he was getting the ball. Used correctly, he could easily be a 80-90 reception guy. Any deep threat he'd bring would be a bonus, and there would be some bonus to him.
I'm just not sold that we need a pure "big target-possesson receiver".
Thomas has got a little bust potential, but he could also be the steal among the WR class, even if he's taken towards the end of the 1st. His upside is as good as anyone's.

I'd choose Sweed over Kelly. However, my feelings lie with James Hardy. When its all said and done, I think Hardy will statistically amount to a superior NFL player than any other WR in this years class.
