Any word? It's nasty outside.

My guess is yes, but I would not expect word till somtime this afternoon. The NLL has already canceled the Wings vs. Rock game in Toronto scheduled this afternoon because the Rock could not get to Philly.
If the winds kick up I would expect driving bans, which would force the game to be canceled. Buffalo already has a driving advisory, so the ban should be next.

It's blowing like hell here in OP, we're (WNY) expecting to get 12" by tonight.
I think I'll go skiing tomorrow. :)

Hopefully they'll make the announcement, if there is one, by around 2-2:30. Otherwise, I will likely be on the road

From what I understand, the majority of the Swarm players were already in Ontario last night for a practice. Provided they can get from there to here and there are no driving bans, the game will be played. BUT with that in mind, the Niagara region of Ontario is supposed to have worse weather than we are today. And, given that there's already a travel advisory for the city of Buffalo, and they're now calling for 1-2 more feet of snow to fall, instead of the original 1 foot total they predicted ... who knows. It may get cancelled, but I wouldn't expect any word until the snow picks back up again and we see how that plays out. If the Swarm isn't already enroute to Buffalo while we're having this lull in the snowfall, they very well may not be able to get here from there.

It's currently 1:11pm. I'm in the city of Buffalo, 10mins from the Arena, there is not one snowflake in the air right now, and the roads aren't that bad at all. As of now, there really shouldn't be a reason to cancel the game.

There's a wintry mix in the air now...and it's expected to shift to all snow later on in the afternoon.

If I were in Buffalo, or close by, I'd agree. In the Southern Tier here, though. Not saying I'm not going, but it's kinda iffy right now...watching the radar and everything....and I have to factor in coming home as well

What's the old saying around here? "If ya don't like the weather wait 10 minutes, it'll change" For all we know it could wind up in the 50's by game time! (hey I can dream right?) I'll be there!

The City of Buffalo now has a travel advisory in effect with a Winter Storm Warning in effect.
Snow will continue across WNY today and tonight with the snow increasing in intensity.
Winds will also pick up. Northerly winds 20 to 25mph with gusts in the 35mph range will cause whiteout conditions, making travel very tricky.
The snow should wind down by Sunday mid-morning. Snow total will be in the 1 to 2' range, especially across the Erie, Wyoming, Genesse, Orleans and Niagara Counties.
Totals will be a little lower in parts of the Southern Tier due to mixing.

Well, it looks like they are gonna play. I am the first to say I am surprised, but then again it looks like this "Blizzard" is turing out to be nothing more then a dusting of snow. And if it gets bad tonight I call Sabretooths house for the night. Bandettes are allowed in.

It's no surprise. This is all a extreme over reaction. Seriously we have like 10" and its windy. Big deal? I'm sorry I just don't see the major issue here. This city has seriously lost some cahones.

I think they were worried more about the ice than the snow.

Haha we have gotten, maybe, one inch of snow in the city the entire day today. What a blizzard. This is exactly why I don't listen to those weather station morons.
Never doubted once they wouldn't play.
LETS GO BANDITS!!!

heading up, I only took the Thruway to Silver Creek and took 20 up to Blasdell and South Park into Buffalo...so I was, at one point, only a few miles from you. The roads were kinda nasty but not impassable. The trip only took me a half hour longer than it normally would.
The way back was mostly clear from the 190 until a few miles before the Angola rest stop...50 minutes of extra time to get home

I guess only the hardcores made it tonite! Wing from Eden, Phil from Jimmy-town, Goose from Springville...ahhh it's great being a Bandit-fan!

The weather wasn't that bad, 219 had one lane plowed pretty well so the drive back to Eden was fairly uneventfull. A couple cars were in ditches on my street, but that happens all the time.

Great crowd for the weather outside. I bet an NHL game in some cities would have had a smaller crowd with the same weather.
Oh what what happened to the 50 mph wind? That was a gentle breeze, there is more wind today then yesterday.

Everyone kept saying how the weather people were calling for 12-24 inches of snow and terrible blowing winds, and everything, and it was nothing. I still honestly believe people believe the weather people still, thats hilarious.
