...involving some ex-Bandits,but Buffalo wasn't involved in this deal.

And,as it turns out,we'll see some of the tradees tomorrow night when the B's play Minnesota.

As for who got what players....

*Philly gets A.J. Shannon from Edmonton and goalie Brandon Miller from Chicago,in addition to second(from Chicago)and 4th round(from Edmonton)draft picks.

*Minnesota gets Dan Marohl and Keith Cromwell from Philly,as well as Edmonton's 2009 2nd round draft pick.

*Chicago gets goalie Matt Roik from Philly,as well as the rights to Brad Self. The Shamrox also get lots of draft picks....Philly's 1st rounder for '09 as well as a 2nd rounder in 2010,along with conditional third round picks from Edmonton over the next 2 years.

*Edmonton gets Mike Hominuck from Minnesota and Lindsay Plunkett from Chicago, plus they also get Minny's 2008 first round draft pick.

big number trade, but not big names.

Dan Marohl and Keith Cromwell aren't the players they were a couple of seasons ago.
Roik sucks and Self is average
Hominuck and Plunkett are good, but not difference makers
AJ Shannon hasn't been the same player since he hurt his knee, but I wish him all the best. He's one of the nicest guys in the league.

True enough.

In terms of total number of players now on new teams,it's major. In terms of key players...not so much.

AJ hasn't been back to 100% yet, recovering from 2 knee surgeries in 2 years. But if he's all healed up now, he'll get back to being an impact player. My thinking, though is Philly may have just crushed their team chemistry by adding him to the line up. AJ is a player that takes a lot of shots on goal, which will do one of two things ... it'll either open Iannucci up for more while AJ's being covered, or it'll screw with Iannucci's record run. Averaging 5 goals a game right now, he's on pace to beat the one-season goals record.

I'm thinking the addition of AJ to the lineup will probably do a little of both. And while it's doing that, it'll also wreak havoc on the chemistry of the team. I'm not sure why the Philly coaching staff would mess with what they had going ... it was definitely working! I'm a firm believer that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Only time will tell, I guess.
