Ye gods, what a problem to have.

Here we had last night:

26 - 9 - 56

12 - 19 - 29

20 - 28 - 41

36 - 22 - 76

With the following sitting around playing cards: 21, 61, and 55.

How do you fit them back in? Lindy's got some tough choices ahead of him. I like it.

55 for 41, if you're still winning, don't worry about the others?

MacArthur can come out and go to the farm. He has cooled off. (Max back first)

Peters can come out. (Hecht)

[Those two can be swapped around]

By the time Drew is back, who knows who else will be banged up.

Bit it could be like this:

26 - 9 - 56

61- 19 - 29

20 - 55- 12

36/21 - 22 - 28

Um, I don't think 51's getting back in our lineup. :D

I'd rather have Stafford in there before I put Max in

I definitely like Connolly with Roy and Vanek, but i like him even better with Kotalik and Pominville. All 3 scored last night!

Connolly, Kotalik, Pominville
Roy, Vanek, Max
Hecht, Bernier, Paille
Gausatd, Mair, Kaleta

Stafford and Mac and obviously Peters and Ryan out for now.

I highly doubt Max plays at all the rest of the season

How do we not get Stafford back in? That just seems wrong somehow.

Peters is on a hot streak, no way you can bench him. I was thinking putting him on the top line. :rolleyes2:

26-9-56
55-19-29

10-5
6-45
38/44-4

26 9 56 (yes, I'll eat crow on this one)
12 19 29
55 28 21
20 22 61

Remember, before this injury debacle, Gaustad was centering Paille and Afinogenov, so I don't see how putting Mair in between them would hurt that much. My only fear is that Afinogenov would be a waste on the 4th line...unless you constantly roll them.

It's fun to think about this season....But who's playing their last few months of Sabres hockey?

Restricted Free Agents: Bernier, Paille, Gaustad, MacArthur
Unrestricted Free Agents: Pratt, Kalinin, Ryan, Numminen, Thibault

Its probably safe to say that Ryan and Thibault are closing in on the end of thier Sabres career. I don't have a clue about the others. But we still have way too many capable forwards. Someone has to be traded in the offseason....Probably 2 forwards need to be dealt in the offseason. Who will it be?

{I posted this in a different thread, but it's more on topic in this thread}

see i think you have to put hecht and pommers back, they were playing real well together.

We may not sign any of our UFA's

I think that 2 of those 3 defensemen will stay....I'm hoping it's Pratt and Numminen, obviously. A lot of other people are ready to pay Kalinin 8 million dollars over 3 or 4 years because he's played 2 months of solid hockey in the last 2 years. Makes me pull my hair out.

It's pretty funny how you guys don't want Max in there.

Why so much hatred for the guy?

Kaleta will have to go back down. I know not many people want it, but we now have a log jam at forward and since Kaleta really doesn't have scoring touch, he's the odd man out. I personally want him in cause I love the energy he brings every game.

Lines:

Vanek-Roy-Bernier
Pommer-Hecht-Mac
Kotalik-Connolly-Stafford
Mair-Gaustad-Max

Tallinder-Lydman
Spacek-Kalinan
Pratt-Paestch

As said before, do we really want max on the fourth line? I think we're gonna be rolling different lines the whole game. This offseason, I fully expect Max and possibly Kotalik to be traded. That spot will be filled be Kaleta which saves us money to help us resign our upcoming UFA's next year, and also possibly bring in a solid d-man.

He is the closest to returning.

Roy, Vanek, Bernier
Pominville, Hecht , Stafford
Kotalik, Timmy, Max
Paille, Goose, Mair

All 4 lines should get close to the same minutes with RVB getting the most most nights.

So far, I like this one the best, with the one exception of switching Kotalik with Stafford.

Almost what I was thinking ... almost. But in my lineup, Kaleta has to play - maybe in the games that might be physical :

9 26 56
29 55 21
12 19 61
20/36 28 22

That means the end of Peters in my book. Mac goes back down to Rochester and Ryan ... well, he goes on IR for the rest of the year.

I think, given the playmaker + scorers, you put 12 - 19 - 29 together whenever Timmy's in. That has the making of some REAL nice stuff. So to me that leaves Hecht between Stafford and Max - not a bad line either. And with ritter's 20/36 28 22 as line number 4.... we should make some SERIOUS noise here at the end of the year.

Everyone is putting hecht in there but he isn't ready yet and doesn't look like it will be within a week or so.

Bad news...

http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/287330.html

Hecht has been battling a pulled groin muscle that will prevent him from playing Friday against the Montreal Canadiens.

His plus/minus is no good.

I'm confident he'll improve.
