If you go to NHL.com and play the Sharks game highlights, just before the third Sharks goal.
"Campbell hears it from the fans every time he touches the puck"

The boos were fairly loud. Sabre fans?

I caught that too. Really really strange. His reputation has rocketed into the stratosphere.

I had heard about it and went searching. He went down harder than the guy he hit.

i doubt it was that, i bet he was being booed for something he did in the game.

were they booing him post open ice hit?

what columbus fan would really care that he left the sabres?

The Booing was before the hit.

When he chooses to. That element had been missing from his game far too much over the last couple of years

I could actually see some Sabre fans driving to Columbus just to boo him.

He drew a penalty from Rick Nash which led to a goal for the Sharks. There was a tussle between the two, Nash dropped the gloves, Soupy didn't, and a scrum developed. Nash was the only one sent off.

Columbus fans hate the Sabres. And thier fans. Its because we took over their building last spring and ruined thier gameday experiance.

I, in turn, hate the Jackets. I tried to tolerate them when the first started out...western conference, never play them, they sucked. All my buddies were fans.

But for some reason we never beat them. They can be the worst team in the league and we still lose.

So now i hate them.

But I'm sure the Jackets fans boo'ed Campbell because he got into it with Nash earlier.

The fact that Fatty McGee Hitch**** is the Blue Jackets head coach gives me plenty of reasons to hate them. He's such a ****in' ****.

We actually have a lot of links to that team...

1) Hitch**** has never like Lindy, especially since Lindy essentially got him fired for revealing his former Flyers' weaknesses.

2) Mike Peca

3) Lots of Buffalo transplants live in that area...some of my family does (by the way, they have one of the better Bills' Backers Clubs in Columbus)

4) We took over their building

They had Geoff Sanderson, Jean Luc Gran Pierre.

We got Steve Heinze from them (i have a great story about that)

And the Bills backers at Spoonz are great.

Ok. The Nash penalty was at 12:44 of the 2nd. PP goal was at 13:57. The Booing took place between the two so that would explain it.

Its not THAT great...but its kinda funny.

So I'm at college, living with some roommates. 2 have been hockey fans for a while, and adopted the bluejackets when the league expanded.

One of my roommates girlfriends, for his birthday, gets him a Bluejackets jersey... she tells him about it and they order it online....who does he pick... Steve Heinze, #57.

It takes a while for it to ship, as they always do... so fast forward to trade deadline day... I'm sitting on the couch watching TV...waiting for deals to go down. I believe I was watching Empire (we had a dish)

So who comes upstairs in his brand new Steve Heinze #57 Columbus Bluejackets jersey but my roommate.... just came THAT DAY. He was so pumped.

He goes into his room and is messing around on the computer for a while...i'm sitting there watching deals go down...and what tracks across the screen but "Forward STEVE HEINZE traded to the BUFFALO SABRES"

I didn't know what to do...i was cracking up inside, but my roomie was a hothead...so I just sat there (I think i called our other freinds to tell them...)

He finally comes in to sit and watch some TV... in his brand new jersey.

He finally sees the trade track across the bottom of the screen, goes all red, stands up, takes of the jersey, whips it in the garbage, heads to his room, slams and locks the door....

I was cracking up so hard I had to leave the house.

:supbro2:

It still makes me laugh today.. the look on his face, and the timing of the jersey...it was priceless. Especially since it was to MY team.

Let me give you the inside scoup on this...

Steve Bereie was very, very popular in SJ.
As popular as Kaleta in Buffalo.

It is hard for fans to get excited about players that do not score alot of goals

Alot of fans did not like the trade.....alot!

Great story, I remember that day myself. Did you fish the jersey out of the trash and keep it? I would have unless it was covered in garbage.

Hate 'em all you like, and I'm not saying "don't hate on him."

But remember this: in just a year plus,he's got the Jackets on the verge of making the playoffs. Could Doug MacLean or any of the 3 other jabronis who've coached Columbus since they entered the league do that? Obviously not.

The jersey was eventually taken out of the trash by me.

I put it on during the next Sabres game I was watching as a joke.... but them I gave it back.

I believe he had the name a number changed at some point, but i'm not sure.
