This email was forwarded to me from my uncle, a non-obama supporter, in response to an email from my aunt.

While I am Not an Obama supporter, I am a political junkie and out of just plain fairness, I cannot let your e-mail about Barack Obama go unchallenged. The " Facts" that you listed are blatantly untrue. While the above link is to an official Obama Site, it addresses every charge in your e-mail and is accompanied by a link to the source of the statement, which are respected news sources such as the Los Angeles Times, The Christian Science Monitor, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and more
1. He was given the middle name of Hussein when he was born, When I might add that one of America's stuanchest allies in the Middle East was King Hussein of Jordan. Implying something sinister about a person's name that was given at birth, 46 years ago, is unfair and blatantly Un-American.
2. Regardless of the faith of his parents, Obama was raised in a secular household.HE IS NOT, and, HAS NEVER BEEN A PRATICING MUSLIM.
3. His step-father , Lolo Soetoro,was a secular muslim. He and his practice of such was spotty to say the least. Kind of like so many of our fellow catholics who take communion and then just slide right out the side door because '" the game starts in an hour and I need to beat the traffic". That doesent make them bad catholics or bad people for that matter, but they do need to do some soul searching and determine their priorities, The Gospel or The Bill's Game.
4. In Indonesia, the country practices one of the most moderate forms of Islam.The public schools that most elementary students attend,in Barack's case, Sekolah Dasar Negeri Besuki in Menteng, Jakarta, Indonesia ,WAS NOT an Islamic madrassa type of school.
Just like here in America, just because my math teacher at my public school is say,Methodist, it does not mean that I am being indoctrinated into the Methodist faith.
5. HE DOES NOT TAKE GREAT CARE TO CONCEAL HIS MUSLIM FAITH AS HE IS NOT AND HAS NEVER BEEN A MUSLIM.
6. While his father left when he was 2, Obama did not see him again until his teenage years. Many " tags " could be used to label the elder Obama such as, Loser,Bad Father,Worthless irresponsible piece of s___.. The tag of "Radical Muslim Mentor" is a bit of a stretch by any leap of the imagination.
7. As stated in point 4, Obama attended a typical public school. IT WAS NOT A WAHABI MADRASSA. He attended 2 years in the public school and 2 years in catholic school.
8. Obama attends Chicago's Trnity United Church of Christ where he was Baptized and he has been a practicing member for twenty (20) years. If taking 20 years is what you call political expediency, then he would fit right in because it takes washington twenty years just to decide who's turn it is to take the microphone.
9. Obama took the oath of office on his own personal BIBLE. If you click on the above link, you can watch the video of his swearing in on HIS OWN PERSONAL BIBLE. The only member of the house or senate to be sworn in on a Koran is rep. Kieth Ellison (D) of Michigan.

Obama said, "My grandfather taught me how to say the Pledge of Allegiance when I was 2...During the Pledge of Allegiance you put your hand over your heart. During the national anthem you sing." By the way, as a United States Marine, we were taught , if not in uniform to stand at attention with our hands at our sides during the national anthem, hand over heart for the pledge. If in uniform, we held a salute.
Again, I want to say, I DO NOT support Barack Obama for president. He is just too far to the left for me.But If you dont support a particular candidate, Make that decision on the facts, not from internet rumor, anonymous e-mails or blog notes. And for god's sake, look for an alternate verifying source for anything that comes out of the mouth of Bill O'reilly and Fox Noise in general.
