Holes in the Wall: Texas Border Wall Bypassing Wealthy Residents with Bush Admin Ties

http://www.democracynow.org/2008/2/27/holes_in_the_wall_texas_border

With the Texas Democratic primary and caucus less than a week away, the Bush administration’s plan to build a wall along part of the southern border has suddenly become a campaign issue. After many landowners refused to give over their land for the 18-foot-high wall, the Department of Homeland Security began filing lawsuits against some homeowners. At the same time, the government is leaving large gaps to avoid building the wall on the property of wealthy residents, including those with ties to President Bush.

There exists three classes in this nation, and they are NOT what people think they are. They are:

1. The Establishment
2. The privileged friends of the establishment (who will not have their land taken away).

3. The serfs. (The rest of us).

That's what happens when you let "living breathing document" run it's course. And please don't tell me that the parties make a difference. One throws crumbs at you to give you the impression that they "stand for you".

Trust me. Those crumbs are NOT coming from (1) and (2). Guess where they come from?

3. The serfs, who range from the homeless to "the millionaire next door".

It's different for the rich.

I don't know if it was just all populist rhetoric or not, but John Edwards and his 'Two America's" spiel had it nailed.
