he Buffalo Bandits' luck has not gotten much better.

After losing starting goaltender Mike Thompson last week to a concussion, it appears the injury bug has bitten the team again- this time in backup goalie Ken Montour.

"Montour is probably not going to get the start [against Chicago on Sunday]," said head coach Darris Kilgour. "He had his bell rung in the Toronto game. It wasn't as serious as Mikey's but we want to be very careful with it."

Thompson, still recovering from a hard hit in Calgary, has missed the Bandits' last three games and will continue to miss a fourth this weekend as Kilgour reported the netminder "definitely won't be available" for Sunday’s match-up.

Likely stepping in for the squad will be 21-year-old rookie Daniel Sams.





Well, if things keep going the way they are going maybe Quinner gets signed...lol

So what is Ross Cowie up to?

IIRC, and Bandit could possibly verify/clear things up, RossCo fell off his roof a few years ago and messed himself up pretty good. I believe he's fine now but I don't think playin' net in any capacity is a reality.


I wonder if Quinner remembers how to get to TimeOut? (-: He's still pissed at my son for sharkin' him.

Yes, it was around 2001ish ... Rosco was playing for the now defunct Ottawa Rebel I believe, when during a bad winter storm up north he was trying to help his mom by shoveling off her roof. He slipped, and fell off the roof, laying unconscious in the driveway for a couple of hours before he was found. He spent some time in a coma, and the injury ended his career. Last time I saw him was probably 2 years ago, he came out for a Bandits game and I ran into him in Cobblestone afterward. He is now doing fine, but playing again is definitely out of the question.

Monster should be cleared to play by next week, according to the rumor mill. Good thing, since we'll need all hands on deck to deal out another first loss to an undefeated Wings team! Let's hope the rumors are correct.

Yeah, and the last one hadn't already beat us once this season ...

Believe me I know you weren't trying to be malicious and I did get the humor of it. Was just trying to inject some nostalgia to the thread. It is an unfortunate thing that did happen to Rosco but he's fine and as long as some of us remember who he is and what he meat to us the better. Thanks for bringing him into the thread, it made me get Bandit off her duff and start posting here again! (-:
