Hey, just post you're favorite or best games of all time here!

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -- Jim Boeheim said the crowd won it. Jeremy McNeil's shooting touch in the final minute didn't hurt.

Brandin Knight

Brandin Knight's winning shot came just a little late for Pitt.

McNeil, who rides the bench more than he plays, hit two free throws to tie the game with 46.9 seconds left, then converted his only field-goal attempt of the game with three seconds to go as (unranked ESPN/USA Today, No. 24 AP) Syracuse stunned second-ranked Pittsburgh 67-65 Saturday night.

McNeil, the backup to Craig Forth at center, had to know it was his night when he converted the free throws -- he had been 4-for-14 on the season (28.6 percent).

"I was feeling pressure, oh yeah,'' said McNeil, who began the season with a heavy heart after the death of his mother in October. "I was scared to death. I'm just glad we won. This game was a team effort. My four points at the end wouldn't have mattered if not for them.''

Maybe he just needed a big crowd, such as the 30,303 who showed up for the game. It was the largest in the nation this season.

"The fans were unbelievable,'' Boeheim said. "It might take the No. 2 team in the nation to get them here.''

After McNeil's shot, many in the stands began to storm the court in wild celebration. But the referees, after Boeheim pleaded for order, ruled that eight-tenths of a second remained.

That gave the Panthers (15-2, 5-1 Big East) one final prayer, and it almost was answered when Brandin Knight hit a 40-foot shot off an inbounds pass from Jaron Brown. After a couple of tense moments with the crowd pouring onto the court again, however, the shot was ruled too late.

"The clock on the replay probably showed I didn't make it, but I think we should have had more time,'' said Knight, who had seven points and seven assists and played all 40 minutes despite spraining his left ankle in practice Wednesday. "But when you're on the road, that's the type of thing you deal with.''

The Panthers had won 12 straight in the conference and seemed set to move to No. 1 for the first time in school history after Stanford upset top-ranked Arizona on Thursday night. But for the second time in just over a month they squandered the opportunity.

Pittsburgh, ranked second, also lost at Georgia on Dec. 31, one day after then-No. 1 Alabama lost to Utah.

"It was a tough loss,'' Pitt coach Ben Howland said. "McNeil stepping up and making those foul shots from a guy that's not know for his foul shooting -- that was big for them.''

Syracuse (14-3, 5-2 Big East), which trailed by as many as 13 points, won its 14th straight in the Carrier Dome and avenged a 73-60 loss at Pittsburgh two weeks ago. And the Orangemen did it by using a tough man-to-man defense in the second half instead of their vaunted 2-3 zone.

"That changed the pace of the game,'' said Hakim Warrick, who led Syracuse with 20 points. "We mixed things up with our defense and that might have confused them a little bit.''

Carmelo Anthony had 14 points and 13 rebounds, his 11th double-double of the season, and Kueth Duany added 15 points for the Orangemen.

Chevy Troutman led the Panthers with 16 points, Ontario Lett had 12 points and nine rebounds, and Brown scored 12 points.

Syracuse outrebounded Pitt 41-37 and stepped up the defensive intensity in the closing minutes with both teams fighting foul trouble. Troutman fouled out with 7:16 left, and Brown played the last 12 minutes with four.

Pitt was just 3-for-22 from 3-point range, and Julius Page scored only five points after burning the Orangemen for 25 in the previous meeting. The Panthers also made just 14 of 29 free throws.

Pitt, on the strength of a 13-0 run, led 43-31 at halftime, getting 28 points in the paint. But after Lett's steal and layup gave the Panthers a 49-36 lead early in the second, the Orangemen rallied back. Warrick scored five points to key the nine-point run that put them back in the game.

"We had a 13-point lead, but we stubbed our toe and allowed them back in the game,'' Howland said. "It should never have come to that.''

Uconn 77 Dook 74 1999 National Championship game.

"I heard Coach K yelling to Trajan, 'Go get the ball and take him,'" said Moore. "I loved that. Him against me. All I had to do was get one stop. I started smiling because I knew he wasn't going to score that basket."

I know there are a lot of Anti-Duke fans here but...

Obviously, I liked the outcome because I'm a Duke fan, but, just as a college basketball fan, this could be considered the best game ever, regardless of outcome.

What's a Hoosier? A Syracuse Orange killer!!!!

Steve Alford just lit them up and then Keith Smart brought it home.

Stop it! IU won a couple other titles, ya know? Not just over Syracuse.

By the way, Alford was great, but if Derrick Coleman doesn't miss the front end of the 1-and-1, Boeheim wins his first title 16 years before he actually did, and Keith Smart never becomes a legend.

Damn freshman!

I agree. Great game. Not just a great ending. Laettner (from WNY) 10-for-10 from the field and 10-of-10 from the line, on top of the final shot. Maybe the greatest individual performance in college basketball tournament history.

When I watch it, I still can't believe Pitino didn't guard the inbound pass.

One of the best games I ever saw, I was there, and it was the same two teams six years later in Tampa.

Duke led Kentucky by 17 points with 10-minutes left in the Elite 8. Kentucky came storming back and won the game in the final seconds to advance to the Final Four and eventually the National Title. It was Tubby Smith's second season as their head coach.

I was at the Pitt game. Truly great game, I'll never forget the way my stomach dropped when that last shot went in, I thought Cuse had lost. Phew! Especially after the court had been rushed lol.

Great game no doubt and Laettner is still the best college player I have ever seen BUT he should never have been playing after stomping on the chest of a UK player. he should have been ejected and thus that play never happens.

I go back to the early-mid 80s and Laettner is the best college player I have ever seen- on TV, in person, it doesn't matter. He was an impossible matchup for opposing Ds as he score score from anywhere on the floor and he was amazingly clutch- the anti JJ Redick. The guy led duke to back to back titles, that has now only happened 2 times in my lifetime. You guys know I despise duke but I give credit where it is due.

I agree about Laettner. I hate Duke but he's definitely is up on the top of my list as well. Plus, he has the Championships to prove it.

Anyone able to suggest a better college player?

Leattner is the best college player I ever saw, as well.

But as far as greatest of all-time, I think you'd get a valid agrument from those who saw Pete Maravich, Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabaar), Oscar Robertson, Bill Walton, and David Thompson, among others.

Are you a bit bitter Coach? Of course we won other titles but they were blowouts. Well the 1953 Title game was a one point win over Kansas but the win over Syracuse was by far the best of the 5. Syracuse missed a few clutch FT's down the stretch. Trische missed one as well right before Smart hit a runner down the lane to set up the Coleman miss with 28 seonds left.

The fact of the matter is that he did miss and Keith Smart is a legend in Indiana.

2007 Central Missouri v. Winona in the Division Two final four. Winona shut down everyone, and I mean everyone we had except one Zach Wright. We lost, but only after squandering a ten point lead late in the second half. Wow we should have been national champs last year. Oh and the that playoff at the Multi in front of 6000 crazed Mules fans vs. SW Oklahoma was magical.

On the DI level its probably the KU v Cuse national title game.
