I looked at the standings about 15 times last night to make sure it was real.

Make sure what was real? 7th place?? They were in 1st place all of last year my god have your standards dropped. The whole East stinks! Its hilarious you looked 15 times last night to see we were in 7th place. I mean my god after having the season they last year I hope they we would be in the top 8. I had to look 15 times to make sure that was washington I see, that's unreal.

Considering the loss of Briere and Drury, working through injuries, finding chemistry with new lines, it IS a thing of beauty and likely will get more beautiful as we gear up for a play-off run.

For all intents and purposes we are in our playoff run right now. And we're handling it quite well this year.Fun watching hockey when we play like this.

It IS a thing of beauty. Great post. I sent the same thing to co-workers today, out of excitement, as if they weren't aware already. :)

There is a lot of Parity in the East. There are also two styles: Speed/skill and Trap, trap, trap being played in the East.

What I like best about this run we're on is that we are playing a more western style of speed/skill with High Energy and aggressive forechecking/toughness. We are looking more like Anaheim/Calgary than Ottawa/Pitt/Wash/Montreal and that will make the Sabres a tougher opponent down the stretch.
