Richard Zednik is feeling so well he’s starting to mimic a tourist. When in Buffalo, eat the wings.


The Florida Panthers forward continues to improve in Buffalo General Hospital and his surgeon said Thursday that Zednik may be discharged either today or Saturday. The 32- year-old, whose carotid artery was sliced by a skate Sunday night, has obviously regained his appetite.


“He asked if he could eat chicken wings,” Dr. Sonya Noor said. “So we let him.”
Picasso’s Pizza donated the food, part of a growing list of well-wishes Zednik is receiving. Iroquois Central schools dropped off get-well cards Thursday and everyone can send their thoughts through two Web sites: bgh.kaleidahealth. org or panthers.nhl.com. — John Vogl
