Buffalo Gamblers of the Ontario Lacrosse Assocation. I can't believe you missed that one Darksyde.

Also wasn't there a woman's pro baseball team called the Nighthawks that played like four games at Dunn Tire Park and drew nobody (and I mean nobody) to the games and went out of business?

They played one season in the United Soccer League. Their home stadium was All-High stadium. Actually that is where the Pikuzinski brothers got their pro soccer start. The Storm is so unknown wikipedia doesn't even have an article on them.

Did you see the name of the St Louis team? Hummers is a great name for a women's softball team. I actually went to some of the Breskis games when I was a youngen.

This makes me sad...(from wiki)

The Buffalo Destroyers began play during the 1999 AFL season, playing their home games at HSBC Arena, and were owned by Buffalo-area businessman Mark Hamister. The team was founded, in part, because of fears that a lease expiration could have led to the demise or relocation of the NFL's Buffalo Bills, the city's largest sports franchise.

I wonder if they bring arena back again if the Bills...(gulp)...move?

The Destroyers were fun, but man the team sucked. They had that like a five game winning streak in 2000 and that was the highlight of their time in Buffalo. Ray Bentley was the only one who seemed to have a clue who was coaching the team. The last guy, who I can't remember his name was totally clueless. I remember sitting in the crowd and could predict each play, so I am guessing the other team could.

No arena football will never be back. NFL owners have the first choice of owning the arena team in their market. Maybe Buffalo could get a CIFL team which is a indoor football league which the Rochester (NY) Raiders are the defending champions.

About the Nighthawks: You are correct, sir. I actually went to one of their games, and you're right, they were basically friends and family gatherings. They went 11-5 before the league went belly-up.

Buffalo Blazers, womens soccer team played at the rockpile in the late 70's. I think they were the only american based team in the Canadian womens soccer league.

If they were men they all had hormone problems.
