They're the Sabres' CHL affiliate.
Raise your hands if you know of ANY Sabre prospects playing there.
*sound of crickets chirping*
Didn't think so.
If the Sabres are going to have a secondary affiliate, wouldn't it make sense to put it in the ECHL? And you wonder why I was jocking for the Sabres to affiliate with Elmira when they joined the league this year....

they were an affilliate last season, and a Mudbug is a crawfish little lobster looking thing people eat down here in Louisiana i say they are yuk. rather have a chicken wing over them things anyday.
I asked for this forum to go along with Mudbugsinsider.com which is now part of the Insider Family.

We have the CHL here in Southern Texas and it sucks. Buffalos high schoolers are better than half of them.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bee's. I know they play your team in Shreveport. I cannot physically watch CHL hockey after growing up watching the Sabres.

I haven't had your cooking but spending being a student in New Orleans at Tulane i've experienced some damn good crawfish cookin...and i would say it is on par with buffalo wings, if not better.

I have a buddy who played in Bossier-Shreeveport...he said the fans there were clueless. They would argue icing calls when it was clearly icing. I think the CHL wil eventually merge with the IHL and form a A level hockey league.

Agreed. And,quite honestly, even though it reinvented itself,I still think the IHL's on thin ice. The CHL is much better run.

I have learned from moving down here from Buffalo, is that one doesnt need to know everything about the game to enjoy the game. The fans are not clueless there just being vocal, doesnt matter to them if the call was obviuos, we are just going to have fun, yell at the ref, make fun of the opposing players or both.
NHL games are much quieter than here. here there is an atmospher that reminds me of the old aud in the 80's. you can talk to the players, GM, the owner walks around and talks to fans as if well he was a fan instead of an owner. wears jeans and a jersey. the fans here have learned so much about the game since it first arrived. It is a real family atmosphere from top to bottom.

There is beauty in the form of minor league hockey. I have my own team about 6 blocks away.

The Mudbugs are the sabres stepchildren now.
Damn I will have to go to game now. The reason I have not gone to any in the past is because of the fans stupidity.
The first 2 years the Stars were in Dallas and icing happened they would say it over the P.A. system and a real fan would still have to explain it to them.
It really is a smart move by the Sabres though with all the G.M. employees from Buffalo down here in NW La and NE TX.
My parents moved us down here in 83 when the plant opened.
I believe over 250 guys and gals that were out of work for G.M. from Buffalo and Flint is what opened that plant.
You can take the boy away from Buffalo but the man keeps Buffalo pride in his Heart For Life.

I agree when hockey first arrivied in our area...I was pretty much one of those clueless fans of the game but nevertheless I found the game a whole lot of fun to watch and very entertaining. Over the past ten years and proud to say 10 winning years....we hear in shreveport have become much more educated to the game. So we are not all a bunch of rednecks that are just here for the beer and fighting....LOL.......And don't knock our hockey unless you have been to a bugs game. Yeah its not close to the level of play in the "A" or NHL but the game atmosphere here is incredible. The fans are very vocal and supportive....The unique thing with the mudbugs is that the fans fell in love with the team before they fell in love with the sport of hockey.
And as my friend Sabr stated....at our level of hockey its easy to intergrate with the players and the organization.....alof of us tailgate before saturday games and our front office will come out and join us in the festivities....Players are always available after the games for autographs and pictures for as long as the fans are there....so it might be a low level of hockey but we are having a great time with the whole thing.
Hey Mike35.....Who was your friend who played for us????
