During Monday’s Democratic presidential debate, Hillary Clinton referred to Barack Obama supporter Tony Rezko as a “slum landlord.” Now a photo has surfaced showing Hillary with that very same Rezko.

Whether or not any of it means anything, it's a pretty funny faux pas. I'm surprised they didn't vette that one a little better. Newsmax and the righties must be drooling over that one.

The photo — which shows real estate developer and fast-food magnate Rezko standing between Bill and Hillary Clinton — appeared Friday morning on the Drudge Report Web site.

What is wrong with being a slum landlord anyway? Someone has to own the low income housing units.

Are you guys serious about asking what's wrong with a slumlord?

Slums are a part of town. Someone owns buildings there.

The derisive term is held for someone who will not repair his property for the tenants. Right?

Yeah, I don't think the right way to defend Obama in this situation is to say that there has to be Rezko-types. Obama responded to it pretty well, I think, in saying that he was assigned to Rezko's case when he was a junior lawyer at his firm and couldn't control who he could represent. Obama has also donated all Rezko contributions to charity. It seems to be a pretty moot issue to me, especially in light of the more legitimate accusation levied at Clinton (she sat on the board of Wal-mart for 6 years before Bill's presidential run and refuses to disclose what her responsibilities were).

The larger issue, though, is the disgustingly disingenuous smear campaign being run by Clinton's campaign against Obama. I've become sufficiently disenchanted with the Clintons that I would really struggle to vote for Hillary in a general election.

aqua: Yep, derisive. Of course someone has to own the buildings, but that someone is not necessarily a "slumlord".... (obviously) Just checking.

Is it me or does Hillary and Bill seem not to fit in that picture. They are probably superimposed in the pic. Hillary looks fake in that pic.
