I put these in Hardcore because I'm sure I will get more opinions. The first is defense with us trading JP to Minnesota for their 4th.
1.Reggie Smith C/S
2.Xavier Adibi LB
3.Jermichael Finley TE/ BALT
3.Demario Pressley DT
4.Owen Schmitt FB
4. Keenan Burton WR/MINN
Free Agents as so far will be Drew Carter WR, Corey Williams DT, and I'm not sure on the veteran qb yet.
1. Keith Rivers LB
2. James Hardy WR
3. Jermichael Finley TE/BALT
3. Demario Pressley DT
4. Owen Schmitt FB
4. Simeon Castille S/CB/MINN
Free Agents as so far will be Marcus Robinson WR, Corey Williams DT, and again got figure out the rest.
Now the next mock is based on Tampa moving up to our first and Buffalo dropping down to theirs and picking up a extra 2nd. Now I didn't have the draft chart with me so I hope this makes the points about right.
1. Malcom Kelly WR/TB
2. Fred Davis TE
2. Xavier Adibi LB/TB
3. Branden Albert G/BALT
3. Demario Pressley DT
4. Owen Schmitt FB
Free Agents with this mock would be Corey Williams DT, Randall Gay C, and again looking for the right QB.
Now Reggie Smith and Simeon Castille may surprise some but it gives more depth/competition depending on injuries and better nickel and dime situations.
Now its up to Buffalo to decide to make this an offensive or defensive team. :duel:

I am not high on the tiny Adibi. We already have tiny Keith Ellison and Tiny Coy Wire
playing LB. They need a real LB, not another S.
I know the team needs anther DT as the guys they have just are flat out not good enough. Trouble is, once past Dorsey and Ellis, this is a very weak class. I'd just as soon see them sign one of the middling re-treads available in FA than waste a 3rd on
Pressley.
I don't know much about Reggie Smith other than he is a junior from Oklahoma.
As crummy as the offense is, I think this has to be a defensive oriented draft. The defense was plain awful last year. Problem is, the draft is pretty weak at Bills positions
of need. If they were to draft best player available in each round they might end up with 5 CBs. They need at least one good LB, but unless they can get Rivers, they are in trouble unless they could maybe grab Connor in round 2. They need a DT in the worst way, but will have no shot at Dorsey or Ellis and there is a huge drop off there after.
They could use a DE, but they already have Kelsay, Schoebel and Denney. None of them are great passrushers, but there don't appear to be any dynamite pass rushers in the DEs coming out, either.

The biggest need is a big WR and there are 4 of them available in the mid-1st to mid-2nd round.
Another need is a big CB and we should go for one in the 2nd or high 3rd round.
A third need is a pass catching TE and we should go for on also in the first 3 rounds.
LB and DT depth should be other picks, but only take one in the 1st three round if a gem falls into our lap.
We have 4 picks in the top 75 players. 3 vital holes to fill. We have a bit of flexibility in that we can trade down our 1st round pick, and use the extra pick from that trade and one of the third round picks to optimize our 3 picks from the first three rounds. Get some quality.

I agree that another pass catching or two are big needs- as is CB.
What I am missing though is how that helps the awful run defense. I really really don't want to watch another year of every RB the Bills face going for career days. If you can't stop the run, no chance against the pass.
If we can only fix one thing, I'd rather see a defense that can actually stop a team and get off the field. I could live another year with an inept offense if the defense is much better.
Just my point of view...

As we all have heard, you don't draft for need, with that being said obviously the Bills will concentrate more on positions where they need some help versus those where they are strong (only S, OT, OG and RB come to mind). Yes they do have some players at LB, but if Rivvers is far and away the best player there, do you expect the Bills to pass him up for a WR they don't have ranked quite as high? I don't, you build through the draft and fill in through free agency, when we do mocks, we look at areas of need and try to guess what guys might be there to fill those roles when the Bills pick. But just because a team doesn't have a glaring hole at a position, doesn't mean they won't take a player that plays that position.
Obviously I am a little biased, I would love to see the Bills take Rivers (if Ellis isn't there) and they can fill their holes at WR (Wilford) and DT (Starks) in free agency, I would also like to see them go after a big CB in the second (P. Lee- Auburn). Then use a third rounder on a TE (Cottam -Tennessee or Carlson- Notre Dame) and a DE (Groves- Auburn). Then they are freed up to fill in depth in the rest of the draft, WR, DT, QB, FB.
Point is don't just look at players who fill an area of need, most times teams wind up taking the best player available, like Minnesota last year, they didn't need a RB, but wound up with AP, the rookie of the year because they took the best player available and the Bills certainly wouldn't have gotten TE had they drafted by need.
