PARIS -- Pervez Musharraf says he still gets the question a lot: When will Osama bin Laden and his top deputy be caught? The Pakistani president insists it's more important for his 100,000 troops on the Afghan border to root out the Taliban than search for al-Qaida leaders.

are you kidding
if a former military dictator cant go after bin laden in that country what makes you think anybody else could
they are in a constant struggle to try to keep the large extremist population there in check. an all out offensive on bin laden would greatly weaken their ability to go after the much larger problem of the taliban. and god forbid lightning strikes and you actually get him then youve probably doubled the size of the problem there
no it was the dumbass king that fubared that all up. afghanistan should have been priority one all the way. stabilize and control that country militarily to cripple the taliban and set the stage to corner them in pakistan. but the iraq debacle wasted enormous time and resources that has made the pursuit of actual extremists exponentially harder
