Democratic presidential rivals Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama accused each other of repeatedly and deliberately distorting the truth for political gain Monday night in a highly personal, finger-wagging debate that ranged from the war in Iraq to Bill Clinton's role in the campaign.
Obama told the former first lady he was helping unemployed workers on the streets of Chicago when "you were a corporate lawyer sitting on the board at Wal-Mart."
Moments later, Clinton said that she was fighting against misguided Republican policies "when you were practicing law and representing your contributor ... in his slum landlord business in inner city Chicago."
Obama seemed particularly irritated at the former president, whom he accused in absentia of uttering a series of distortions to aid his wife's presidential effort.
"I'm here. He's not," she snapped.
"Well, I can't tell who I'm running against sometimes," Obama countered.

"Senator Obama, it's hard to have a straight up debate with you because you never take responsibility for any vote," Clinton said to loud boos
This is an hysterical quote.

Well, I'm ending my long silence on the PR&S boards to speak out against your post, ticatfan. Be proud that you've ended my silence, because your remarks are shit.
How does responding to accusations make Obama a whiner?
Hillary's just a pot calling a kettle black. She's smearing a more credible candidate with swiftboat tactics to try to uphold a double standard and drag her most viable opposition into the mud where she's been playing for years. Need I mention that she receives more PAC and lobbyist money than any other candidate, Democrat or Republican? Or that Obama's criticism of Hillary's sitting on the corporate board of Wal-Mart is actually valid? What a sleaze.
Obama was initially assigned as a junior lawyer to assist Rezko, who was then not charged with any crime, in obtaining state funds to improve living conditions in his tenements. Obama's political dealings with Rezko show that over a period of 17 years Rezko has donated around $80,000 to Obama's various campaigns, as opposed to $13m to Illinois Governor Blagojevich and a mega-million dollar fundraiser on behalf of George W. Bush (lazy (http://www.suntimes.com/news/sneed/93087,CST-NWS-sneed12.article)). Obama has since donated all donations from Rezko to charity, to avoid any appearance of impropriety. Further, Obama has accepted no donations from Rezko since his indictment.
If this is the best Obama's critics can come up with, Barack Obama must be the least-checquered, most ethical Presidential candidate in years.

Would all of this recent fighting (ClintonS, Obama, black leaders, etc.) qualify as "Democrats eating their own?"
Or are we still to believe that it's all peaches and lollipops over at the "United Democrat Front?"

I'd say it's the former, Coach. But there's always a lot of fractionalization during primary season for both parties. Once convention season rolls around there will at least be an appearance of a "United Democrat Front", as you put it.

Clinton, Obama throw more blows outside debate ring
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton on Tuesday said Sen. Barack Obama had become frustrated by his losses in New Hampshire and Nevada, and she also accused her opponent of not backing up his words with action.
Obama responded quickly, saying Clinton was willing to "fudge the truth" in her quest for the Democratic presidential nomination.
The bitter exchange continued the sharp confrontations from Monday night's Democratic debate in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
