I have been critiquing other people's mock drafts, so I feel it's only right to offer mine up for criticism as well.
I really think Miami, will trade, but, I will pick this as if they didn't.
1.Miami- DT Glenn Dorsey, LSU (Dolphins don't need a RB and Dorsey can be more dominant than Long)
2.St.Louis- T Jake Long, Mich (The offense broke down when the OL started to get hurt. They need him to get the offense back on track)
3.Oakland- RB Darren McFadden, Ark (Al Davis prefers talent to need. DMC is the most talented player in the draft and would be a HUGE upgrade over Fargas).
4.Atlanta- QB Matt Ryan, BC (I don't like the pick, but ATL is adament about taking a QB and he is the best). Possible trade down
5.KC- OT Ryan Clady, Boise St. (KC averaged 78 yards a game last year, even with one of the best backs in the league. They will reach to take Clady here).
6.NYJ- DE Chris Long, UVA (NYJ needs to shore up the defense a little bit and Long can be an immediate force. They haven't had a real pass rusher since Abraham left)
7.NE- CB Mike Jenkins S.Florida (Ashante Samuel is going to be gone to FA because the Pats don't pay that kind of money to keep people. There aren't many great CBs after Jenkins, so the Pats jump on a replacement here)
8.Balt- DE Vernon Gholston, Ohio St. (Baltimore needs a QB too, but I really don't think they take Brohm or Woodson this high. Neither blows people away. Instead, they add another piece to their sintgy defense that could use a bit more pass-rush)
9.Cincy- DT S. Ellis, USC (I hate this pick because this is who I want the Bills to get, but Cincy has a terrible D and Ellis will help clog the middle and rush the passer. I doubt they pass on him).
10.N.O.- S K.Phillips, Miami (I've heard Balmer here, but I just don't see NO reaching. Phillips is the most naturally talented DBs in the draft and NO was terrible against the pass this year).
11.Buffalo-DE D.Harvey, Fla: (The Bills pick is hard because they can go any number of ways. Sam Baker (OT) would be the choice if they wanted to fill the OL). Jackson or Kelly could be picked to add a 2nd WR, and Rivers or Connor could be selected if they wanted to add another able body at LB. I select Harvey because he can be a true game-changer on defense where we suffered. The WR is deep enough that a quality WR can be had in the second round, so I think the Bills go D here.
2nd rd- WR J.Nelson, KState (I've been talking about him a lot, I know, but he's got great size, speed and stats. He'd be the perfect fit for us).
3rd rd.- CB C.Godfrey, Iowa (One of the fastest DBs in the draft. Also played S in college, so he is versatile).
3rd rd. TE J.Finley, Texas (He won't last til the 4th and I don't think Rucker (Mizzou) will be around here, but Finely fills a huge need and could grow into an elite TE.)
