Unless something is going to be done with Schobel or kelsay, I don't see how we can justify taking Gholston. I would love to have him, but we have bigger needs. Like a day 1 starter. I think a LB would be a better pick here. Maybe someone coveting Gholston would want to trade up. That would be ideal.

If Sedrick Ellis makes it past the Chiefs at 5, I'm hoping the Bills do what takes it move up. If not, I like Gholston or Campbell at 11.

Its going to be interesting to see how some have the RB's ranked out this year

I have Jonathan Stewart 2nd w/ Mendenhall just slightly behind him

On Gholston, I'd be happy with the pick.

The Bills need to take the best player on the board at #11. I really dont care if its offense or Defense. The only posistions I would ignore completely are RB and LT. This team needs an Impact player more than any other posistional need. We need somebody who has a chance to be great in this league, not just good. If its a DE so be it. Its not like we dont need to upgrade our pass rush and w/ the way we rotate DE's he will be seeing a lot of action and my guess is he would be the starter before the middle of October

We have 3 possible 4 other first day(yes I realize the 3rd round is no longer on the first day but until someone else coins a new phrase or I come up w/ one the first 3 rounds are still day one picks until further notice) to address the needs of this team. This draft is deep enough where you can fill your needs and find starters in those rounds

I absolutely agree that the Bills need to add the best player available regardless of position with few exceptions (LT & RB as Merk mentioned)

However, I also would look at character issues. Most busts are busts because of off field issues more than for lack of on the field ability. That being said, I'd hope someone at 1 Bills drive would make damn sure who ever they pick tests squeaky clean. Gholston's appearance raises a red flag. I know some of you don't care, citing Merriman as an example, but having a steroid user in your locker room creates dissention with the non-users.

Just because the guy is jacked and ripped doesn't mean he's on steroids or HGH.

The guy looks to me to be a genetic freak, like he was made to play sports. His arm length is absurd.

He's the guy we need to draft. The cover 2 is at it's best with DE getting pressure and rushing 4 guys. When TB was running it best they had Rice dominating and the Colts look great early this year with Freeney and Mathis causing havoc.

We need a kick ass pass rusher and he would be a steal if he was there at 11. Kelsay can sit the bench with his contract, we have the cap room.

If he's clean then he is obviously someone that should be strongly considered. However, if he is still there at 11 there is probably a good reason for it.

Gholston does look like an animal in those picks....but I'll be a lot of guys in the NFL look like that. As for that draft...I hope we'd make an effort to move up with Baltimore if Ellis is on the board. They'd still be able to get Brohm at 11 and I'm sure they'd take a 3rd to move down. Ellis makes all 3 other DL on the field better.

18. Dan Connor LB 6-2, 233 Penn State

I'm tellin you....

You realize that roughly 70 of your last 100 posts had the words 'Dan Connor' in them, right?

You realize very few people bother to respond to this anymore, right?

Have you stopped to wonder why that might be?

Haha! I'm not the one who had to come in here to the aid of his CJL lover, 244, for saying this 'RIP _____' shit is childish and offensive earlier.

What can I say, I love the guy.

I don't care, it's like JMNY83 and his Hardy infatuation. He's the BPA imo.

C'mon guys, it's the offseason. Gotta love it. It's Fantastic.

Plus, that's better than spewing over a guys 'Gunz.'

Want more?

1. Dan Connor, Penn State
Vitals: 6'3, 233
Stats: 145 tackles, 15 TFL, 6.5 sacks, INT, 6 BrUp, 7 PD, 2 FR
Pros: Moving inside to fill in the position vacated by former stud Paul Posluszny, Connor played even better than a year ago. He was a tackling machine floating from sideline to sideline ending plays. Wraps up well textbook tackle after textbook tackle. Connor plays an aggressive style filling gaps hard and meeting ball carriers in the backfield. A tireless worker on and off the field and is relentless in pursuit. Widely considered as a more athletic Posluszny with a good nose for the ball. Decent dropping back into zone coverage. A decent blitzer.
Cons: Appears to be a somewhat straight-line athlete. Doesn't turn well compared to his athleticism. Not very strong in man coverage of receivers and backs. Understand that while trying to find weaknesses of Connor, he doesn't slouch in any of these areas, but just minor details he could improve upon. Looks like a WILL linebacker right now, but could easily bulk up and play the SAM.
Projected Round: Top 10 Pick.
Connor wins the Chuck Bednarik Award http://buffalorange.com/showthread.php?t=129649

You get these type of players regardless.

If we address DE and/or DT (maybe even WR) in FA, I have no issues with Connor at LB in the 1st.

Wisconsin WR Paul Hubbard, for example, has drawn his share of props this week. Hubbard is a big 6-4 target with speed - he averaged 21.8 yards per catch this fall - who kind of slipped under the draft radar after missing several games with an injury.

Woo hoo you know this is what I like.
