After reading Sullivan's column over and over again, and seeing nothing but negativity and dismay from this Buffalo writer, I sat down the other morning and read his column about Roger Clemens he wrote:

After reading it, I was disgusted and immediately sat down and wrote him an email, to the address listed at the bottom of his column. Needless to say, I have not heard back from him.
Mr. Sullivan,
Do you know for a fact that Roger Clemens is telling a lie? The title of your column leads the reader to believe that. While I understand your column is an opinion column, it frustrated me to read your article in regards to Roger Clemens and his denial of using steroids and performance enhancing drugs. Our society, media, and public sectors have very quickly changed for the worse. We no longer live by the old adage of "innocent until proven guilty" and instead drool on the concept of "guilty until proven innocent." The sports world has truly been tainted in months and years past in regards to the use of steroids, and the immediate perjury that ensues. However, so has the media. Gone are the days of reporting and writing about the positives that take place on a regular basis throughout this country and world. Here are the days of the "doom and gloom" because the media believes it sells. What morals and values are we teaching our youth, or even those that still "don't get it," when the media constantly quips about the negatives and are so quick to pass judgement? As I read through your articles on a daily basis, I am jaded by the "doom and gloom" within them. You end your article with "Benefit of the doubt, Roger? At this point, all we have is the doubt." Who exactly are the "we" you are referring to? The "doom and gloom" writers who thrive on this stuff so that they can make a buck or two? Give Roger Clemens the chance that he deserves, just as everybody did with Barry Bonds, Marion Jones, and many others. Let the justice system play itself out and if the day comes that Roger Clemens is proven guilty, then so be it; write your "doom and gloom" column. However, until then, maybe all of the media should focus a little more on the positives, not be so quick to pass judgement just to sell a paper, and write about the things that our youth and society needs to hear about. I know that I am not only speaking for myself when I say that it is becoming harder and harder to turn on the news and open the newspaper.
Sincerely,
....
