The Montreal Canadiens.

They are solid across the board and have a good mix of veterans and young guys.

On offense they have skilled veterans like Koivu, Dandenault, Kovalev and Ryder yo go along with two great young talented guys in A.Kostitsyn and Latendresse, another really good one in Higgins, and two others with Lapierre and Plekanec. Even Andrei's younger brother Sergei is up with the Canadiens and making an impact. They can go three lines deep on offense and be effective in all three with the top two being deadly.

On defense they have 5 quality guys with all star starter Markov, on of the better offensive defensmen in Streit who can also play some forward, two other quality veteran defensemen in Bouillon and Hamrlik, and a good youngster in Komiserek.

Then in net Price is a rookie stud who should be able to have the same impact on the Canadiens this season as Ward did for the Canes during their Cup run. That will give the Habs the luxuary of shipping Huet at the deadline for another quality veteran forward to help make the run for the Cup.

Watch out for the Habs this year, they have all the ingrediants nessessary to make a strong push for the championship.

Ehh. I'd have to see them sustain consistency for a full season before crowning 'em. The Habs were one of the better teams in the East at this point a year ago, and it resulted in a 10th place finish in the conference. You might be right, though. Montreal does have some outstanding pieces.

Latandresse = awesome.

I do like the Habs, they really do have a good mix, Kovalev is having a stellar season, as is Markov. I love their goaltending depth too, right down to their AHL backup, Halak.

It's not just Latendresse though. Him and Kostitsyn on a line together is sick. And the two are only gonna get better. So if it's not this year that they make a deep run it could be next year or the year after.
