I get an extra $100 off through a Newegg promotional (promotion code is EMCABAJAH if you're interested)
This will be for my side business so basically testing LANs and downloading drivers as well as internet surfing, billing and bookeeping etc. Probably no gaming at all.

Ah hell, I'm pulling the trigger. Can't beat the price and it doesn't have Vista.
DONE; $562.92 shipped with a Targus bag and small Logitech Laser Mouse. I'm pretty sure Pete will approve as he has recommended Lenovo in the past.

I'll let you guys know how I like it. I ordered a 512mb stick of Corsair for $18.00 shipped as well (after all no self-respecting geek can have less than 1GB of memory).

Just to close this out I had the laptop a week and loved it but it was too slow so I sold the 51MB stick I bought to a guy at work and ordered 2GB of Corsair for $45. That speeded things up but that CPU was depressing me. Single core 540 at 1.86GHz with 1MB cache wasn't hacking it after enjoying multi cores for so long.
So I did some studying and asked a few questions and decided I wanted a T7300 in here. I found a guy selling an engineering sample T7300 for $140 shipped. Core 2 Duo, 2.0GHz and 4MB cache. Got that and downloaded the service manual. After about an hour and a half of work I had a new Laptop. http://ganjataz.com/01smileys/images/smileys/OdBall-thatworks2.gif
I wrote a detailed guide for another forum on the install and posted it here as well. Pictures and everything if anyone is interested. http://www.buffalorange.com/showthread.php?t=130383
So for $680 I have an $1100 Lenovo Thinkpad with XP Pro.:n4clapping:
