"...wants large grocery stores to help fight obesity by paying fees on sodas and other beverages they sell in San Francisco."

(see link for entire story)

Is this not going a little overboard?! Last I looked, we live in America, where you have a right to either buy, or not to buy soda.

High fructose corn syrup is poison.

stop by your local super market and begin reading the ingredient label on almost everything in there...

bread, sodas, gatorade, juices, arizona green tea, jelly, syrups, cookies, snacks....

the list goes on and on.

Amazing what an engineered sugar can do.

Gives pure cane a bad name.

Neither new coke nor classic coke tastes like the original coca cola.

Only diet coke does.

Haven't had a Coke or Pepsi myself in 8 months(ever since that little hospital adventure). The strongest I go for these days is lemon-lime soda.

I'd rather have natural sugars(which juices have;no need to add any)in what I drink than ones where they have to add it.

When the state takes over the management of your healthcare, it is inevitable that they start to dictate what/where/when you can eat.

There are some real nuts in California, smoking bans in people homes, fast food bans, no more late night pizza delivery and now this. I just love how people believe they have a right to dictate other people behavior, especially when they arent harming anyone. Bastards. Makes me want to go on an all trans-fat, coke diet.
