Anywhere, no Subway crap though...you guys know what I'm taking about. Not gonna make a poll, too many options.
Mine. A chicken finger sub from Johns hot, with bleu cheese, provolone, lettuce and no tomato.
Or a steak in the grass with no tomato, not may or oil but Italian dressing. Just amazing.

Any sub at Ninos is fantastic. They use the best ingredients and there is a difference. Their chicken fingers are the size of chicken cutlets they are so huge! Excellent place to eat this kind of food. I drive by about 5 other pizza joints to get there, but it never disappoints. The staff leaves a bit to be desired, but know that going in and you're good.
That said, Jim's Steakout has the best Buffalo chow at all hours of the day or night. Got some wings there a few weeks ago after a Sabres game when all the g@y southtowns places were already closed (11 pm on a Saturday) and they were AWESOME. Also have great chicken finger subs. Staff is hysterical and has a great sense of humor. They were wearing shirts that said "I see drunk people..." lol. They are open til 4 or 5 am so I know they must see lots of drunk people. I hadn't been there in about 5 years or more before that visit and now I can't wait to go back. It was packed at 11 pm and when I left, there was still a steady stream of peeps coming in. Awesome choice for Buffalo food.
On the disappointment list is Duff's. The Duff's that opened in Orchard Park is mobbed all the time, so someone must like them, but I have never had a good order of wings and they have never put together a take-out order right yet. Me and my b/f have ordered take out about 4 times and it's never been correct. Wings are undercooked and loaded with grease. Hamburgers are horrible. YUCK! All this talk about Duff's being the best wings and Jim's blows them away, IMHO...

PWT in Fredonia still makes great bbq chicken finger subs.
Brunner's Pizza Baron in North Boston makes a mean bbq chicken finger too.
And of course you can never go wrong with Nino's.
My personal favorite no longer exists, bbq chicken finger sub "BOZ" size from Tony's Patchin Pizzaria in Boston. I used to work there and they dubbed my sub that I made for myself, which had 6 chicken fingers on it, a Boz size :)

no for tailgating purposes... Step and I did extensive research. We wanted subs that could withstand the night before pre game purchase and hold their own in parking lot scarfing... John & Mary's was the winner... They toasted the rolls... Lettuce and fixings not shredded so eating required on;y one hand with no shrapnel. Tasty as well.

Anything else from Jim's is amazing.
12 inch Philly, extra Jims sauce, no onions, with fries. Awesome, especially drunk coming home from the bar at 4am.

Super Royal from John and Mary's is always my favorite. If you want a sub that is piled high with meat, just head down to your local Wegmans or Debella's (all the same thing).

Damn, that's too hard to pick! Almost anything from back home on a freshly made, toasted roll is amazing.
Usual favorites are: Steak and Cheese (melted cheese) with or without peppers (depending on mood) with oil and mayo, and Baked Ham and X-Cheese with oil and mayo, light salt and pepper and bananna peppers. Damn!
My usual fare: One of the above subs, an order of hot fingers, a small X-hot meat and cheese taco (x-cheese) with a Loganberry (or a Bleu) and a slice of pizza with blue cheese (for dipping). Damn, now I want to be home!

Ok, I went to Jims, got a taco (sucked) a 15" steak and cheese (good, wish it had more meat) and the gal pal got a Italian and steak sub (Awesome). Jims has good eats, without a doubt.
I really like Wegmans cold subs though, I get assorted subs without mayo, take it home take off the tomato and lettuce, pop it in the toaster oven until the bread is brown, pull it out, add the lettuce, tomato and a bit of mayo and Im very happy.

There's a Wegman's on Amherst that' near the wifes family. We stop in there to get some subs. That's where I usually get my Ham and X-Cheese. I do this...light lettuce, banana peppers, onions, oil and mayo, no toms. Take it too the house, make it open faced and place in oven to bake it...I don't bother taking anything off. Just damned good!

Me five! I grew up on Junction! But Good Guys tastes the same and is cheaper. The owners of Good Guys used to work at Junction.
PJ's is the "fine dining" connected to Pizza Junction. They added that a few yrs ago to make even more money.
Martinsville people (the area where it's located) called it Junction. We ate it every other day for a year when my parents were re-doing our kitchen.

You're nuts. Shredded lettuce rocks. I don't know how you could stomach a sub with leaves of lettuce on it.
Lettuce. Now that's where the flavor of the sub is.
And the flavor really comes out when you shred it. Releases all of the juices of the lettuce.

Sure, if you let your once delicious sub sit around on the fireplace mantle for a couple of days.
Don't procrastinate my friend, unwrap it and consume. If you are concerned about your glorious Buffalo sub (better be on a Costanza's roll or I'll swear you are a communist) getting soggy because you bought it, ate part of it and let the other half sit in the fridge overnight then you were never manly enough to deserve a Buffalo sub in the first place. ;)
If that's the case then I advise you to get some Oscar Meyer B-O-L-O-G-N-A and wonderbread. It's a safe bet for those intimidated by cullinary excellence. That's a moot point because then you wouldn't be deserving of lettuce anyways.
