The Marlins go about "building" a team unlike any other major league organization. Periodically they gut the team of any quality, high payroll players and bring in top MLB prospects. The product next year is going to be an absolute joke but how can you question their success, 2 Championships?

If you were a Marlin fan (I know there aren't many out there by their attendance) would you approve of the way they go about business? It will take a while to get back to the rest of the pack but if their prospects pan out they could be winning big again in the future. Is a World Series worth the price of having to be the joke of the league for years and years?

There really not building a team

If they had to choose they wouldnt have traded half the players they did b/c they know they could have been dominating the NL for the past decade

What there doing is kind of flipping MLB and the city of Miami the finger until they get a new stadium or are allowed to move

The Marlins are a cash cow right now. W/ a pay roll of about 10 mil They will make 60 million before they even sell a single ticket this year b/c of the f'ed up rev sharing program in MLB

I'm a Cubs fan... I've endured the "absolute joke" part of it, with zero rings in a century. I can take the joke part, if it gets the Cubs a ring.

That being said, Merk hit the nail on the head. They're interested in profit, and always have been, IMO. In both of their WS wins, they got in via the wild card, and managed to win the playoff series from there.
