I will be watching the Sabres live in person for my first time tomorrow (well i guess today actually)...very excited to see the team in action and see what they can do against the ducks. granted they aren't playing near as well as last season, the ducks are still a good team when they bring their "A" game (thats pretty much all i get to watch out here, ducks and kings, so i am pretty familiar with them). also glad i will be seeing the sabres when they are playing good, as opposed to a few weeks again. an 8-1 victory like the other night against the 'canes would be nice

I am also definitely looking forward to probably being one of the FEW sabres fans in the stands. GO SABRES!!!

I saw 4-3 Buffalo in a shootout!! I imagine there will be a decent amount of Buffalo transplants out there. I know a few that are in So Cal....

I'll be there tonight and in LA tomorrow.

I went to a Ducks game earlier in the season and was surprised to see that the fans didn't really care much about the game. A lot of them were reading newspapers or books, or facing the person next to them just talking. I thought interest would be greater considering they won the Cup last year.

Sporting events out here are more like social events for "fans". Nothing hardcore about them at all, it seems like most don't care if their team wins or loses. This is one of the things I miss most about Buffalo.

Wow...I just looked at Google Maps...

Anaheim doesn't even deserve to be its own city...its essentially a big LA suburb.

Ok, score re-write:

Sabres: 3
SoCal Smog Mallards: 1

hell, from LA all the way down to the border, it has practically just turned into one big city, with the exception of the small stretch where camp pedleton is.

and regarding the fans not caring about the game...ya, im pretty sure half the people who bought season tickets for the ducks this year did it just cause it was the cool thing to buy. i was shocked when i went online to buy tickets for the game THE MINUTE they went on sale, and the best i could get was in the top section because they had sold so many season tickets.

you'll be surprised at how many empty seats there are tonight. the game I went to was vs the Sharks, a division rival, and it seemed like 1/4 of the seats we're emtpy,,, all over the arena, not just in the nosebleeds.

they hallways will be crowded during play, because nobody gives a shit. all they care about is showing off their latest designer jeans to each other. lots of hot ass though.

Some cities just don't deserve the cup, or a team.

You will find me up in the nose bleeds actually watching the game...with maybe the occasional glance at the hot ass...

Have you ever been to a Laker's game? Loads of fine ass on display, I wonder if they even know a sporting event is going on.

naw never been to a Laker game, but i would LOVE to go check out the ass there...and the game.

man o man was i dissapointed with the sabres tonight. they started off good in the first, then just imploded. Gaustad got HANDLED by Bertruzzi when they fought...Peters fought alright against Parros, got a few good hits in. I definitely enjoyed the game, but not the way the sabres played. hopefully they will go out and kick the KINGS ass tomorrow (i actually like the kings, but i like the sabres MUCH more).

No Lakers game yet, but what cracked me up tonight was at the end of the game when the PA guy announces "another sellout tonight, that makes it 10 in a row.." or some shit. There were atleast 4-5k empty seats scattered all over the arena. Sellout? WTF? Yeah they may have sold all the tickets, but nobody showed up.

Anywho, here's my official report from the game. Sabres were shit, Ducks looked like champs. Sabres have had off since Sat., they should have been fresh. Again, I blame Ruff here for not having his team ready to go. Plus he forwards were too afraid to go in on the forecheck against the bigger Ducks D. That was the game.

With all the fights, clutching, interference and porn staches, I had a brief flashback to the 80's.

It was incredibly vacant in that arena; if they really sold that out, then, like you said, thousands didn't show up. And I find it hard to believe that many people would waste the money they spent on tickets. It sounds as if the organization is trying to make itself feel better by saying every ticket was bought. Total BS.

ya...the whole sell out thing, and that many empty seats cracked me up too... but i believe it was sold out because i bought my tix the minute they went on sale, and searched best available, and i was literally at the very top row of the arena..which i kinda enjoyed..plus i was sitting in section 409 which was the section that one a $10 gift certificate to the yardhouse...and the ducks girls that delivered that were AMAZING!!
