Per ESPN. This is going to be a very good game, I hope. LSU will probably take the win.

Can you say "BLOWOUT"? Ohio State doesn't belong on the same field as LSU.

I think OSU will give LSU a better game than they did Florida last year because LSU isn't as fast or explosive on offense as the Gators were.
But at first glance, I can't see OSU playing a full 60 minutes with the Tigers.

I can't wait to see the opening spread for this game. I don't see Ohio State staying within two touchdowns. Probably won't even be close by halftime.

Is Oklahoma State playing for the Title? I didn't think so. What exact relevance does this have to THIS game? If you are trying to say Miles can't coach I'd prefer to say that there was a talent difference between his old team and his new one.
But if that's how you guys get prepared in Columbus go ahead and do it. It won't do you much good on January 7th when you get rolled AGAIN.

Tell me, what bowl is Notre Dame in again this year?

OSU doesn't belong in this game that's for sure. W/ a creampuff non-conf sched and an easy conf sched OSU did not earn this honor. This is why CFB sucks(the system not the game itself).

Where exactly are they better than us?
I just don't see whats so great about LSU? They aren't half the team Florida was last year.

LSU doesn't have to be half the team Florida was last year. Ohio State isn't half the team they were last year. That still translates into a blowout to me.

Are you kidding. We're better than last year. Not nearly as flashy, but a better football team.

eh, as an osu fan I like the match a lot more than some other potentials, wvu, mizzou, and georgia spring to mind. and I like the bucs ability to match up better with this a more conventional offense.
we'll see what happens at game time

Anyone who thinks that LSu is more athletic, or somehow faster than OSU just doesn't know football..... Last year against Florida wasn't about speed, it was about showing up ready to play... they did...we didn't.
If Ohio State didn't have great team speed, and hasn't had great team speed for years why do we send more players to the NFL than any other school, save USC? Why do we have more players drafted in the first round than everyone else? Is the NFL in the habit of drafting slow players?
LSu is a very good team... it should be a good game. But if people expect a repeat of last years game they are going to be in for a let down....
Ohio State will be focused this year, they will be the underdog, and they will play with a chip on thier shoulder.

Oh my lord. P you are just spewing out a pile of shit. Ohio State was NOT as fast as Florida last year. Not at all. And once again all you can do is MAKE EXCUSES. You got your ass kicked by a superior team just like you will this year. Can you let me know what your excuse is going to be ahead of time this year? I'm sure you are working them up as we speak. You only have like 35 more days so you better get cracking.

What the ****, exactly, are you talking about?
Do our 4 and 5 star recruits suddenly get slow when they come to Ohio State? Do they then become fast again when they are drafted in the first round? Do you realize how little sense the "OSUis slow" arguement is? Do you... you can keep saying it and you'll keep being wrong.... but i should know better...ND fans are, hands down, the dumbest fan base in college football.... they have ZERO clue.
Saying Ohio State is a slow team shows your ignorance. Thats all it does. We got beat bad by Florida last year because we weren't ready to play, not because they were faster.... thats a fact.
Don't be a dumb shit CFB fan, it doens't look good.

How did we reach the determination that an LSU team that hasn't beaten anyone of any relevance by more than 7 points since September is going to be able to march onto the field and blow out Ohio State?

...Last year against Florida wasn't about speed, it was about showing up ready to play....
You know I love ya, dude. And I think you know your shit. But this HAS to be the dumbest thing I've ever read from you.
Troy Smith was absolutely overwhelmed by the speed of the Gators defense last year. And that was a big reason the game got out of hand as quickly as it did.
...If Ohio State didn't have great team speed, and hasn't had great team speed for years...
Who said anything about years past? They had enough speed to beat Miami a few years back for the NC. They've had plenty of speed in many of their great seasons.
But they didn't last year, compared to the Florida Gators. And they still don't match up in that department with several teams. But it's better than last year, no doubt. And they do so many things so well this year it doesn't matter as much.
Is it just a coincidence that their only loss came against probably the most athletic team in their conference?
It's about matchups. But, as I said, I actually think they match up well with LSU.

You don't think Troy smith losing his biggest offensive threat on the first play, and getting into a fist fight with his #2 wideout an hour before the game had something to do with Smith being overwhelmed? How about the fact that Smith obviously didn't take it as seriously as he should of.... he believed his own hype.
Now this is nobodies fault but ours (including Ginns injury) but do you disagree with the statement that had we played Florida with Ginn and smiths head in the game it could have been a much closer game?
Florida was fast, very fast... but that was far from ohio states "a game" either... and thats all I'm going to talk about last year because its irrelevant.
As far as this year, LSU isn't Florida(one more reference I guess) last year... and our game is a game of power running... and we have one of the best RB's in the nation to run with.
Heres a little background to our squad leading up to the game"
we're going to be as healthy as we've been all year.... Boekman had a wrist injury the last 2 games, but Schoenhoft isn't good so we stuck with todd. Beanie Wells had a ankle sprain thats bugged him all season and a bone chip in his foot... the ankle will get better before we play on the 8th. Wells also played the last few weeks with a broken hand. and look at what he did with those injuries... a healthy Wells should be scary for LSU. Brandon Saine, our 3rd RB is 6'1 220 and runs a 4.4 (high School track star) He had his knee scoped right as he was getting comfortable in the college game... he'll also be fully recovered. Our #1 WR Brian Robiskie had his knee scoped right after the michigan game... his play dropped off, along with Boeckmans and nobody knew why... well now we do.
LSU is going to get the Ohio State team that whooped up on Penn state in happy valley at night....

I agree but I would also throw the OSU OL in there too
I think the biggest thing that led to that blowout was that OSU completely underestimated how good and deep that Florida DL was last year and I would say speed played a factor b/c OSU OL looked like they where completely shell shocked by the DE's speed. Harvey and Moss put on a clinic .
They were getting massive amounts of pressure w/ no blitzing and w/ talent they had a LB and the secondary they were able to let there playmakers make plays. Led to Fla offense getting more oppurtunties and then it just steamed rolled from there
That said I dont think this will be the same outcome as last years game
I think OSU will not underestimates LSU DL which is also very good
Other than that I really havent put much thought into this game yet to see how they match up.

Coach, exactly how is OSU's speed better this year when they lost Pittman, Ginn, and Gonzalez who all run in the 4.3s. The only spot OSU might be faster at is DT. Otherwise they're unchanged for the most part.
I guess they're still slow.

Good point.
But when I watched them play this year, they were faster and more athletic than I thought they would be.
So, individually and player for player, maybe they aren't. Or maybe they just don't have those 2 or 3 burners but have better overall speed?
But they did look it to me when I saw them play. And LSU is not as good, or as fast, as Florida was last year. Which is why I say it will be a much closer football game than a lot of people do.

an increase in "speed" on our D could be due to players making quicker decisions... last year our D was very, very young... we had lost all 3 LB's to the NFL, Whitner and Youboty, and some others... if i remember correctly we replaced 9 of 11 positions.
On offense we're not faster on the ourside... although Robiskie, Hartline, and Small are plenty fast.... but our offense is completely different than last year. We're a power running team.
