Maybe. Batavia's in a world of trouble....lots o' debt,no lease in place,etc. Basically,standard operating procedure.
I'll be sad if this happens, but not totally surprised. Having seen games in Batavia over the last few years,it just doesn't draw all that well. Granted, the fact that the teams have been mediocre at best has quite a bit to do with it,but still-TPTB in Batavia don't really know what they have.

I have heard rumors that Muckdogs would die after the 2008 season when their agreement with St. Louis runs out. So I was a little shocked to see it may happen any day now.
If the Muckdogs do fold or move, the New York Collegiate Baseball League is ready to move in and set up shop. But I really hope the Muckdogs stay. I love going out to the games, for $15 you can watch the game, eat dinner and have a beer or two. It don't get any cheaper then that.

Okay, I guess this thread can fit in to the Bisons forum sorta. Closer then MLB.
Anyway I have found out some info on the goings on with the Muckdogs. The team will play this season, but this may be the swan song for the Muckdogs in Batavia. The New York-Penn League may actually run them, which can't be a good situation. I also learned Rochester Community Baseball, the organization which owns the Rochester Red Wings tried to buy the Muckdogs but was turned down by the New York-Penn League. Where they the mystery person who wanted to bail the Muckdogs out? And why did the league say "no". The Red Wings run one of the best minor league franchises in the country. Does the league have another city all planned out for the team? I am sure more news will come out about the team.
