And they say it is because we support independence in Tibet and Taiwan.

More like Taiwan, nobody except college students, weenies, stoners, rockers and rappers care about Tibet. On the other hand the entire world cares about Taiwan. Its all about the money and unlike Tibet Taiwan has it. China wants suzerainty over Taiwan and we want to preserve its independence to avoid a war that we could not win.

The President just met with the Dalai Lama in person, in public, remember? Over China's objections. They are not happy that we gave him official quarter.

No. I just turned on the TV to see where the game will be on (BTW, what the F#@k is NFL network?) and the channel was still on CNN from last night's debate. Lou Dobbs was ripping into Bush for not having the sack to file Trade sanction charges against China, so I thought I would give him a minute of my time. They immediately move on to the Thanksgiving denial of port and then two ships that requested shelter from a storm and an analyst on the show said China announced today that these actions were in response to US support of Tibet and Taiwan.

That is all I got off it. Thought it was interesting though.

Dobbs is convinced the Chinese do not respect tolerance and shared understanding. They only understand shows of strength. And then he basically called Bush a pussy.
