gilberto da silva ferreira will enjoy this one.

KCTV 5 Exclusive 8 month investigation into Johnson County DA Phil Kline has uncovered major news that is likely to force the DA to resign or be removed from office.

An investigation started in January of this year first uncovered--after a lawsuit due to Johnson County refusing to cooperate--that Phil Kline is making $147,000 per year while only working an average of 29 hours per week.

There are also 6 weeks worth of information that was not included because Johnson County claims "sometimes the system purges information."

So KCTV 5 began to dig even further to find out where Phil spends his time.

Law requires that Phil Kline reside in Johnson County, where he serves as DA. If he doesn't he must "resign or be removed from office."

After weeks of staking out a crummy apartment--located on top of a storage facility owned by Phil Kline supporters where he pays $400 per month--KCTV5 never once saw Mr. Kline or his wife come home to the apartment.

Then after following Mr. Kline and his wife on camera numerous times from work they found both Phil Kline and his wife driving to Topeka and staying at a residence they own there. His wife also regularly picks up his daughter from a Topeka school and she too stays at the Topeka home with her parents.

Again, the law requires Phil Kline not just rent or own property in Johnson County but also reside in that property.

It is apparent that Mr. Kline does not reside in the crummy apartment. The people of Johnson County deserve better. Therefore, we at the KC Blue Blog are calling on a complete investigation and/or the resignation or removal of Phil Kline from his position as Johnson County DA.

The man who is supposed to uphold the law is apparently breaking it?

No. FREAKING. Way.

Irony on a base level,it is.

Does this qualify him as Worst Person in the World?

lol, Phill is such a dumbass. He spent 4 years as attorney general chasing an abortion doctor out of Wichita, and not much else.

He was so bad that 2 former AG's, both Republicans, campaigned against him. The candidate running against him switched from Republican to Democrat just so he could (he was the former Johnson County prosecutor).

He got trounced in the election, losing by like 75% of the vote. I don't know if you remember, but about a year and a half ago I started a thread about Phill's secret memo to staffers, where he was having them schedule church sermons so he could have a fundraiser across the street.

Nutcase. But was KCTV really staking out this apartment for 6 months? Sheesh, get a hobby.

I don't like that station anyways, since they took away our morning news babe

Former Kansas Attorney General Robert Stephan today asked the state ethics commission to investigate the campaign finance report and political fundraising of Attorney General Phill Kline.

Stephan raised questions about $41,000 in unitemized contributions listed in Kline's campaign finance report submitted on Monday. Six other candidates for statewide office, both Republicans and Democrats, listed no unitemized donations.

"The basis of my request for an investigation is not only a result of the amount of unitemized contributions but the possible use of contributions obtained through church donations,” Stephan said in his letter to Carol Williams, executive director of the Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission.

Stephan previously questioned a Topeka church's payment to SWT Communications, a company owned by Kline's wife. The money was characterized by Kline as a "love offering” intended to support his Christian ministry, but the money went into the account of the for-profit company. SWT also has made contributions to Kline's re-election campaign.

The former attorney general said in his letter that the state ethics commission also should examine SWT's payment of $3,600 to Kline for storage of his campaign material on property owned by the Klines.

Yeah, I think an organization reported him/the church's he preached at to the IRS too, questioning their 501(c)(3) status. (No political stumping by a 501(c)(3). )

BTW, Stephan worked a little for Kline as a special prosecutor. He just got to the point of questioning a number of Kline's methods.

Most republicans don't even like the guy any more.

Kansas City CBS affiliate KCTV5 conducted a 6 month investigation of Phil Kline, the religious zealot and rabid anti-abortion District Attorney of Johnson County, Kansas that has now caught fire on blogs nationwide, earning C&L a nod for our coverage. The investigation uncovered some dirty secrets about Kline’s true residency and his apparent lack of work ethics — and now he’s running for cover.

In a follow up report Tuesday night, KCTV noted that Kline refused to appear on their broadcast to defend himself, but instead chose to appear on right wing radio talk shows around Kansas where he dodged the issues and repeatedly attacked KCTV and it’s reporters. KCTV captured some of his radio hissy fits and replayed them, nailing him on a number of lies and issued Kline a fifth invitation to join them to talk about the allegations. Somehow I doubt he’ll accept. This is real journalism and it’s encouraging to see it come out of the Midwest. Fine work, KCTV5…don’t let up.

Developing a man crush for Phill, Nehe?

He's pretty much yesterday's news...unless you live in Johnson County, no one really cares about him any more.

BTW, that first radio show he was on in the link? The chick's got great hooters.

Topeka's about an hour from KC. I suppose I gotta take the old girl to the Plaza for the Christmas lights again. Its just not the same since FAO Schwartz closed.
