Just thought I'd start a thread talking our favs. Who they are, when they wrestled, what about them made you say this wrestler is my fav.
Me, well its pretty obvious is was Snuka. The Superfly lacked the mic skills, and wasnt the greatest wrestler by far. But he came in not looking like alot of the other guys - fat, not in shape (right American Dream?), and man could he FLY! He was one of the first to take that "high risk manuever" to new heights. A guy that would dive 15 feet off of a cage, whoo hoo.
Hulkster was also a fav. Big time guy, couldnt wrestle, but had that "thing" that made you cheer for him. Good on the mic, and got you excited.
4 Horseman were my fav stable. Flair, Tully Blanchard, Arn and Ollie. THAT group was mean as shit! Especially Ollie Andersen. Even Arn said Ollie intimidated him.
Whats everyone else say?

Big Hogan fan when I was a kid. When I got older (Teens, late 80's early 90's), my fave had to be Mr. Perfect. As time went on, I really liked Undertaker, until he dropped the "Undertaker" gimmick and started riding the motorcycles, etc. Today, my faves would be Jericho, MVP and Mr. Kennedy. Favorite Tag Team? No question: Demolition.

Gotta say Curt Henning was good. Sad ending for this guy. He really was a talented cat. I loved his attitude and the way he worked with Bobby the Brain Heenan.

hogan and shawn michaels to stone cold, the rock, undertaker and Mick foley.
What ever happened to those days. I cannot watch wrestling no more. It just bores me. I loved it when hogan wrestled, even more when stone cold and undertaker were top dogs. Undertaker throwing mankind off the cage, was one of the greatest matches of all time. Now a days...These wrestlers seem to have no hearts anymore.

I always liked "Earthquake" (John Tenta) because he looked like this semi-retarded, poor guy in my town.

Brett Hart had to be my favorite. Never the biggest guy, but he could out wrestle any guy in the ring. His matches were never predictable. I also like HBK and HHH. Liked both before DX, then when they formed DX, they took it to a new level. Was a big Mr. Perfect fan in the 80's. Ricky Steamboat was a favorite of mine as a kid. Honorable mention to Leapin' Lanny Pofow. Liked Hogan, Macho Man, Stone Cold and The Rock, all before they got to be too big. They then got predictable. I loved the tag teams of the 80's, but don't have a favorite. Among those I enjoyed were the Killer B's, British Bulldogs, The Rockers, The Heart Foundation, Demolition, and Legion of Doom. Later on I liked the Outsiders.

I loved a lot of the wrestlers back in the day. Some of my favorites:
Mr Perfect, Ultimate Warrior, Ravishing Rick Rude, Koko B Ware, Brutus Beefcake, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Jake the Snake to name a few. There were a bunch.
The Rockers, Demolition, Power & Glory, Legion of Doom are a couple tag teams.
Newer would be The New Age Outlaws, Sting (original crow persona in WCW).
I didn't really watch wrestling from late 90's on, but I've watched it every now and then.
WWE guys I like are Mr Kennedy, Randy Orton, Jericho... not really any sweet tag teams around anymore. It's almost always two singles guys thrown together.
On youtube look up "classic wwf themes"... there is a guy who pieced a bunch of them together, has like 5 videos or so on youtube. It's nice to go back in time a little.

The Ultimate Warrior. He has been and will always be my all time fave. His power, his music, and his energy always made me like him the best. I will never forget WM6 when he beat Hogan for the Championship and became the first ever Heavyweight and IC champion.
my other faves over the years have been the early undertaker and Kane's. Just powerful guys who didn't speak a word and just kicked ass. that;s what made them awesome wrestlers. Then it goes to Rock and Stone Cold, as they were just fun to watch. They had great story line and charisma. they played their parts perfect, and i really enjoyed watching their stories if not their wrestling matches.
Mic Foley also deserves an honorable mention, as he lived for the business. I can always watch a mic foley match.

wow you guys really like 80's WWE, as do I.
but as i grew up and i saw more wrestling my tastes changed.
Mitsuharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi are two of the best wrestlers ever. They are the Japanese equivalents to Flair.
Im also a huge sucker for cruiserweights. The Great Sasuke, KENTA, Ultimo Dragon, Jushin Liger.
Try to get a copy of Super J-Cup 95 and tell me you dont love the way those guys work

While the mid to late 90's were the height of popularity for wrestling, the 80's were a special time in the industry. There were so many colorful characters and the greats all had identities that still work today.
