True...Louie's has to get some props just for being open all hours of the night!

I say it's apples vs. oranges. Both rock, but for different reasons. Someday I will follow through on my idea to buy some Louie's Texas Hots, race over to Ted's and pour the slider sauce on one of those char grilled Sahlen's.

But I'm kind of afraid it would be so good that my head would explode.

Now I'm torn. Which Louie's are we talking about. There are actually two very different Louie's hot dog chains in Buffalo. Louie's Hot Dogs (theres one on the corner of Elmwood and Hodge) and theres Louie's Texas Hots (like the one located at Delaware and Hertel). Personally, I'd take either Louie's over Teds. All of the Teds locations just way to generic and sterile for me, kinda your typical suburban buildings. Louie's have the much more classic hot-dog joint feel to them. You can sit around the breakfast bar 24 hours a day, and theres usually a waitress with some personality, rather than just the minimum wage high school kids flippin burgers. Teds has good dogs, Louie's has the total package.

I have to agree with Wagon, it's 3am munchies (Louies) vs afternoon lunch in January (Teds). Edge does go to Louies though since it's hard to top a Louies omelette after a hard nite of drinkin' at 3:30am. Ham & chesse omelette with cut up hotdogs, onions and scum-sauce on top! yummy!

Been here all my life (42 years) and have never tried Louie's. Don't want to. It's TED'S for me and I will continue to go there once a week ... FOREVER !!!

How about this question as a follow up :What do you put on your Ted's dog ?

For me, it's mustard, their hot sauce, and pickles. Order some fries and a Mountain Dew and I'm in heaven ...

Ahhhhggghhggghghlllllgghlllll (Homer Simpson drool noise)
